A new timetable will be introduced for the Geelong line from Sunday 4 December.

In the new timetable some services will:

depart earlier,
depart later, or
have different stopping patterns.
Hard copies of the timetable will be available from 25 November at your local staffed V/Line station or ticket agent or by calling 136 196.

Downloadable copies of the new timetable are now available here: Geelong (pdf, 364KB)
Remember the new timetable is effective 4 December 2011.
Changes include:
0722 up Geelong and 0804 up Marshall no longer N sets.
2053 up South Geelong (Sundays only) will now commence from Marshall

0542 down South Geelong extended to Marshall
1754 down Marshall no longer an N set
1816 down Marshall now N set
1935 down Marshall now N set now departs 1928 stopping all stations

Ugh, the 1816 and 1935 is now N? You've gonna have a lot of unhappy travellers come summer!

Thanks,

0722 ex-GLX no longer an N-set? It hasn't been an N-set for the past couple of months that I've been catching trains from there - it's pretty much always an H-set. I presume you mean that it won't be a loco-hauled set - I expect to see a Sprinter consist clogging up platform 2 on weekday mornings from next month.

Oh and what's the issue with the 1816 and 1935 ex-SSS being N-sets - is it that there will be older stock running or is it the 2+3 seating in Economy? (Actually I can understand the latter point - being used to VLs on the 0715 and 0720 ex-GLX travelling to work, riding an H-set on the 0722 when the 0720 was delayed was a rude reminder of how much I value my personal space.)
Oh, what a perfect world this world would be,
If he was President now - but he's not.

An N set stopping all stations is a lot slower than a VLocity running express Footscray - Lara - North Geelong, however it will be more reliable as the 1935 will no longer be through-routed from Traralgon.
