Could we see this 'through routed' with #630 one day? Both are operated by the same owner.

The new 606 timetable towards Fishermans Bend has now appeared online.

Weekday services will operate at 40 minute intervals from 06:00 until 19:45. With the exception of the final trip, all services operate to Fishermans Bend

Saturday service will operate hourly between 08:00 & 19:30, between Elsternwick & Bay Street Port Melbourne.

Sunday service will operate hourly between 09:00 & 19:30, between Elsternwick & Bay Street Port Melbourne.

I note the service will operate on public holidays unlike 561's recent upgrade - but maybe this is the reason for finishing at 19:30 instead of 21:00?

Could we see this 'through routed' with #630 one day? Both are operated by the same owner.

Given that the 606 will terminate at Elsternwick Station rather than Elwood and they are on very different frequencies(the 630 has a very mixed frequency including Saturdays 25 minute frequency!), it would seem unlikely, although both routes share Bent Avenue Elwood. If it were to happen there would be a major rejig of the 630.
The 606 is an interesting location as it is almost midway between the Altona and Oakleigh depots!

I would say that some direct bus link between Newport and Fishermens bend which goes over the bridge.

Picked up at The Met Shop in the City today (30 November).

Route 606 Elsternwick to Fisherman's Bend new bus timetables Effective Bus times 12 December, 2011/Train times 8 May, 2011 v.1 (Nov 11).

Changes are:

• Route 606 extends from St Kilda to Elsternwick via The Esplanade, Barkly St, Mitford St, Broadway, Ormond Rd, Bent Ave, Rusden St, Glenhuntly Rd to Elsternwick Station then returns via Brighton Rd & Bent Ave then normal route to Fishermans Bends.

• Route 606 Weekends & Public Holidays timetables terminates at Port Melbourne via East Esplanade & Bay St back to Elsternwick.

• Operation hours from 5.55am to 7.13pm Mon to Fri, 8.00am to 7.00pm Saturday & Public Holidays & 9.00am to 7.00pm Sunday, Good Friday & Xmas Days.

• Route 606 no longer via Aclands St, St Kilda between The Esplanade & Fitzroy St.

• Monday to Friday timetables every 40 minutes & Weekends & Public Holidays every 60 minutes services.
