Buses for sale, and thoughts.
Sorry to bother the usual chatter as I'm only a young'un and don't know many things.
You probably already know, but looking at it this isn't too bad for an old bus. I guess though, the society doesn't has funds to preserve any which is a shame.
I believe they're located at the Bridgewater depot. Also, click on the photo tour button on the bottom and you'll see some nice images. Have any regular members here considered getting your own bus

By the way, upon further viewing I found they had one bus which according to the fleetlists has apparently been sold .
http://www.bussalesonline.com.au/vehicle.asp?ID=559 Ex Metro #516 - The Busy Bee. What's the go with this?

I knew that. I was more interested in the case of #516 and your own personal thoughts on owning a bus.

Re: Buses for sale, and thoughts.
The buses for sale are so expensive at $19,800 for the Scanias and $17,050 for the MAN. They are simply not worth that much in the current market.... what market there is.
The Tas Bus and Coach Society does not primarily exist to own and preserve buses in its own right, it simply does not have the resources to do so. But it will certainly encourage and foster the ownership and preservation of buses of historic significance by its members. Some members already have preserved buses and I am sure that others do have acquisition plans in an embryonic stage, perhaps as consortiums.

After enquiring for someone else (big camper plans) all decommissioned vehicles are at $10,000.royaltiger wrote:The buses for sale are so expensive at $19,800 for the Scanias and $17,050 for the MAN. They are simply not worth that much in the current market.... what market there is.

The most amusing thing about these advertisements, is NOT ONLY the price BUT the horsepower considering the VOVI (non-turbos) are only 203hp, definately NOT 260hp as stated in the ads

At some stage in the future I would be looking at a B10M, depending on price and would most likely be one from here in Vic. Prices are a little high at this point in time as they all are and as mentioned in above posts but no harm in keeping a eye out you never know.
