SCOOP Red Front CB80 #1562 on O-Bahn

Postby busboy_depot56 » Tue Oct 11, 2011 9:02 pm

Managed to get a couple of shots of 1562 today in service on the O-Bhan. This was the first rigid to enter service of this type on the track with 1560 shortly after!

1562 seen on a 545X on the down after passing under Holton Court bridge.

1562 seen returning on the up about to pass under the same bridge as a 506.

Another red front with the different style air mesh/grille/vent thingy located at the bottom rear door side of the bus, also means no CB80 punched out/embossed wording in that location.

It never occured to me that it didn't have any track lights! But they wouldn't be needed anyway cos if they're anything like the CB60's the normal high beams are more than enough.

This driver didn't have his headlights on! The fog lights (marketed as 'day' lights) can't be turned off when the headlights are on. When the high-beam is on you can turn these LED fog lights on, I'm not sure how much difference they would make in the dark.
Time to get bus priority and tram priority through the city and suburbs.
Time to police bus lanes which are used by arrogant car drivers.
Time to work for better timetables and better connections.

I took 1562 out for it maidem voyage on the O-Bahn.
It was a by far a better bus than the Scania K230 with CB60 body.
I had a seated load leaving PBI to TTP, The bus managed 94Km\h up tthe hill.
There was very little virbration with this bus.
In my opinion all the K230's should be removed from the O-Bahn track and replaced with the Scania K280 CB80's.

Not much, they're so other people can see you, not so you can see more.
