1172 sighted today on a G21, followed 2 minutes later by 1170 on a G22 at approx 4pm in the CBD, outside the Central Market. Gotta admit, the CB80 front is quite striking.

Its a Bustech TDi (13m version). It should have the new front design.

Will destos for next week's FX services show "Adelaide Oval SA Lotteries Express via......" or will they still show AAMI Stadium. Wonder if some crystal ball gazer actually programmed then in?

DECS hino 1408 @ cross road bowl at 12:30pm. I didn't think any were left in the metro area.

Sighted what could possibly be one of Transfields SIX busses that they are bringing into service, sitting in the TSA Yard at Morphettville.

Its a Red Front CB80, registered SB.27.ET There are no fleet numbers. It was driven straight into the TSA Yard when it arrived at the depot the other day!

Over the coming days look out for the old Mercs making their way from Lonsdale to their new home at Elizabeth. This is in preparation for the Gawler Line shutdown due to commence on 18th September.

I brought 566 today and another driver brought 547. The remainder of the fleet will be moved over the coming days / week.

My records show that DECS 1408 is a Heathfield HS bus (and has been for many years). So only 15 mins up the freeway. I think Heathfield still has 2 DECS buses with runs to Bridgewater and the other to Scott Creek. Both very short runs (I've driven the Scott Creek one) that wouldn't appeal to private contractors.

I spotted an old Darwinbus Volvo B10M artic on the Freeway uptrack yesterday afternoon. Didn't get the fleet number. All I can say is that it was a weird looking thing, very skinny at the back. (should this be in the NT Transport observations?)

I saw it again operating a #B10 at the intersection of Magill & Glynburn Roads at around 8:25am. I also saw the CNG Scania L94UA (#1319) operating a #580 outside the UniSA Magill Campus at around 4:05pm.

Almost daily from now you will find the old Mercs running between Mawson Lakes and Gawler Central. Rigids and artics. They mainly run through the back way along Coventry Road.

What's so unusual or significant about this observation that it warrants posting on here? The 'one-off' buses are out and about every day (e.g. 1318, 1319, 542, 2801, 1015, 2510/11, 2746, etc.) You may not see any of these buses every day, but they are definitely out there every day.

Not a chance in hell. Obviously outbound trips will show the final destination with route number as per normal (FX22 reversed), but these options exist for inbound trips:

  • Use generic SA Lotteries Footy Express destinations
  • Use plain Adelaide Oval destination, but this would require approval from SA Lotteries to drop their name as sponsor
  • Use existing destinations showing SA Lotteries Footy Express – AAMI Stadium
  • Use existing destinations showing SA Lotteries Footy Express – AAMI Stadium with Adelaide Oval supp boards
For Torrens Transit I'm sure option 3 will be the one; SouthLink however are a fan of supp boards, but I doubt they'll create so many boards for a one-off use. The FX20B service will surely have a supp board explaining the difference to a regular FX20.

1239 is now a Port Adelaide bus.

Also expect to see the brand new CB80 artics 1170 & 1171 buses on 21W show duties.

No Trams running as at 2:30pm. All I know is there is an incident at North Terrace.
