Ditch it and get yourself a horizontal inline 6-71 GM. It was a common retrofit and you'll get rid of the DK20 boat anchor.

I am A bit new to buses, purchasing only recently ? But 6-71 GM will retro fit straight in or do I require complete running gear ? If its generally the best option, any idea's where to source this from...I had just purchased a ER200 from Singapore to find out it had been sold twice ? So just after alot of messing around just got my money back !!!

Bus is stripped, with engine out ? I have another option to rebuild for 9k ?? or just drop another motor as you suggest above ?

Parts for this DK are so rare ??? Been searching the world and nothing ??

Being blunt, it's because they were rubbish! Seriously though, they used to cook on a regular basis and warp blocks. I take it that it is a Perth one with a pneumocyclic transmission. If so, the pneumo will cope with the GM ok. You'll have to sort out a bell housing adaptor and engine mounts, but it's far better in the long run. I'd hate to be in the back of never never with a cooked DK20.
