481 was the best of the three O305G's (IMHO) we had at Canning Vale while I was there:)

I haven't driven 481 as of yet but have had 411, 421, 484 and the ex. Canberra Mercedes O305G a few times as well as the Volvo links.
Looking to getting more Transperth bus models made up, doing a batch of Volvo B7R's currently.
Currently engaged and expecting to be a father in July.

@Q4004 I ment 483 and 488 the last two 0305's running around in service.

NR29 483 AND 488 are 0305G's

FWIW I've spotted 483 travelling north out of Byford this week a couple of times presumably after running an Armadale HS run which terminates down here.

Once I have confirmed the costing with Swan Transit and other negotiations and arrangements, I will be doing a booking service for the tour. Mainly to reduce the hassle on the day of having to collect cash (time consuming) and then having to carry it around all day. A finalised price (most likely $20 per person) will then be confirmed and I will be taking in payment in person (cash) preferably. Exclusions apply to those travelling from interstate who simply need to supply proof of attendance. (Flight details is satisfactory) If there are any issues of not being able to pay prior to the day, please let me know. A refund will be given to those who cannot attend the tour and who have already paid providing that it is 24 hours prior to the tour. If there are any issues please let me know.

Once you have made your payment, you will be sent your booking details/pass and itinerary for the Saturday 30th July Tour. You will be required to show the pass or at least your booking number and name if you cannot print off your ticket to me or the driver on the day.

I will not be taking any money until I have confirmed everything. Once that has happened, payment can be made to myself or PoweredByCNG.

Any questions or queries? Please let me know.

So far there are 15 people who have "confirmed" that they'll be attending. We are looking for more people to attend. Don't be shy, or alternatively just send me a PM if you wish to attend!

Just one other quick note, I will not be tolerating rubbish on the tour! If you don't behave, you'll be kicked off!

Costing for the hire of 483 has now been confirmed by Swan Transit.

The cost for the tour will be $20 per person and unless you are a interstate traveller, needs to be paid prior to the tour date which is the Saturday 30th July 2011. It'd be convenient for us organisers and Swan Transit if money could be paid at least three days before the tour but earlier is alright. Just PM me to arrange a payment method and where.

We have 26 people confirmed and even though this is a good number, I know there are a few more people out there that may interested!

Just a concern I would like to address to a particular board member here.

It has come to my attention that there is someone here who recently decided to not attend the tour has been bad-mouthing the tour to other enthusiasts and convincing them that the tour will not be as good as it seems and that it'd be a waste of money and time. I'd like to advise this person, although I do not try to force anyone to attend and it is a decision that they should make themselves, if you are NOT going to attend the tour however, DO NOT go around like a clown and saying they should not attend the tour. Afterall you can NOT expect me to be able to do what you want, I am not the one who makes up the operational rules and afterall, I have many people to satisfy for the tour and I only have limited resources to do so. I try to satisfy as many people as I want but unfortunately, we can not get what we want all the time. So please if your not going to attend (which doesn't bother me), you do not have to go around and tell people how bad the tour is going to be especially when you are just spread rumours.

If anymore of this continues, I shall cancel the tour as I will not tolerate it. Furthermore if anyone here wishes to abuse me for something out of my control, I will make a tough decision resulting in the tour being cancelled. As I have put all my time and effort into this tour, if no one is going to appreciate it, there is no point having it go ahead. This particular person should be ashamed of yourself.

In saying this, I do hope that the majority of you that are attending will appreciate my efforts that I have put in, especially considering it is hard to get a charter/hire from Swan Transit and I hope that this post has not changed the minds of some of you in regards to your attendance or not.

I will keep you guys informed with the latest on the tour. Under a month to go now!

I would like to thank you for all of the hard work that actually goes into putting everything together and for things to run smoothly on the day. I think that whoever that person is that they should grow up and not act like such a little child.

All I can say is that I do not appreciate thie actions of this formely active forum member (who has semi-disappeared from ATDB - I'm sure everyone knows who he is). People should be happy that we are actually HAVING a tour (these weren't looked upon highly by managements in the past). In short, if you don't intend on coming, keep your trap shut for the sake of all those who are attending. I have personally thanked the driver who has selflessly donated his time for the operation of this tour and without his assistance, we would have nothing. It will be a great day and for some, a day that will bring back fond memories.

Mr OC Benz (and others who have organised tours)...I appreciate the work you have put into this tour and any others you have done although I haven't been able to attend them. I have organised tours here in Brisbane so I know full well how much work happens behind the scenes.
Keep up the good work and don't let one inconsiderate individual ruin it for you and others.

To the individual trying to ruin it........... shutup and mine your own business. If the tour is canned because of your actions, not only will Perth based attendees be upset, those of us travelling from Interstate will be very bloody annoyed!!!!!!
This tour will be my first in WA & also my first time ever to WA so I will be more than bloody annoyed if it is canned.
Any posts are my views or opinions and are NOT on behalf of any Organisation.

Why would someone knock a tour? I dont understand why, when someone is putting in as much effort as you are Zac into organising that, an individual would have the audacity to try and ruin it? i cant seem to find the offending comment but i wouldnt worry about it. You have the support over there from most if not all of the WA members as well as ppl who are willing to fly interstate to be a part of it. I would personally love to attend my self but ill be blunt. I cant make it, nobody is aware on here so ill spill the beans. Im am currently having treatment for a Thyroid cancer and waiting to go into hospital to have it removed so if it was the end of the year if able to, id personally be happy to fly over and attend, Give me a chance to also catch up with those i have met and those ive been wanting to meet as well. But on a personal note, you are doing a fantastic job organising, You have a passion for transport in WA and dont let someone spoil it!!!

I'm hoping that the issue mentioned has been resolved.

Anyway, I'm continuing collecting payments for the tour. It is a requirement unless you are coming from interstate to pay prior to the tour. I am starting to receive some payments now which is good! If at any stage you are not able to attend and you have given me enough notice, your payment will be refunded.

Once you have paid or confirmed your booking with an airline (for interstate travellers), you will receive an email with your booking details and itinerary. Please let me know if you have not received it after a week after payment. (I may have forgotten) The itinerary will not be posted in public so it is important those attending know where we are departing from and where we are going. The booking reference is also important for the tour when I check names off on the day.

There have been a few changes to the vehicle that we were proposing to use, however I will inform you guys with the latest once I receive it.

Hi guys,

Here to inform you all that we have had a vehicle change. We will no longer be using 483 as we don't want to take it out of its range, so instead we are now using 488. UQB488 is currently based at Canning Vale Depot and is a Mercedes Benz O305G operated by Swan Transit. This bus change also means a slight itinerary change, this has been sorted and I will be re-sending (to those who have received their booking) and sending of booking confirmations to those who are confirmed and have paid or booked a airline fare.

So is the tour going to include both an artic and a rigid? so would there be like a choice of what bus you rode initially on the tour and then the choice to changeover / stay on the same bus after visiting BPSWA ? even if it is just the one vehicle i'm down for it anyway, can't wait!
