noted that Red CATS are all ready displaying "full circuit"Red CAT - service improvements
Effective: Monday 28 February 2011
Transperth is pleased to announce that from Monday 28 February 2011 additional capacity will be added to Red CAT services to alleviate congestion and improve reliability in West Perth.
The additional capacity will provide a higher frequency service within West Perth only, with extra trips commencing at Red CAT stop 16 (Perth Underground) and finishing at Red CAT stop 30 (Wellington Street Bus Station).
Additional trips will operate throughout the day, with further additional trips at peak times. All additional trips will operate in West Perth only.
As these additional trips will operate a West Perth loop only, patrons travelling beyond West Perth are advised to take note of the destination displays on the Red CAT. The display will specify whether it operates a “Full Circuit” or a “West Perth Loop” service.

Noted that "West Perth Loop" is simply an appendage to the existing "Full Circuit" service

Re: Red CAT - service improvements
Would they not just be referred to as route number 4? I thought the number 4 was the West Perth loop of the Red CAT. Or does it mean they have removed the number 4 now, and they are all Red CAT number 2?

Re: Red CAT - service improvements
No RED CAT 004 still exists as its main purpose. The West Perth Loop is just the improvements to improve capacity on that section of the CAT...

Re: Red CAT - service improvements
this is getting too complicated....seriously. The West Perth loop is already the "004" is it/not?
The capacity improvements are great though. It's good to finally see the constraints being eased by increased frequencies aka Guildford Rd/ Beaufort St/ Belmont 37s. All we need is a decent all-night service!

004 is only one way as I said before... It starts somewhere in West Perth I think and terminates at WSBS... It lays over at WSBS the same time I wait there for an artic to arrive...

Re: Red CAT - service improvements
Can I ask where are the extra buses coming from???
Is there enough spare at CB or are they leaving the Freo 004 Buses up there for the day and sending them back down at night.

Re: Red CAT - service improvements
It probably all works out alright anyway with the amount they've got there...
Re: Red CAT - service improvements
And they often use whatever they can, meaning a good variety of buses seen on red cat peak services
