Post by venturatiger »

Hi there, here is a look back at Moryua Bus Service, who when i first visited them had a wide and varied collection of 2nd hand buses. Photos aren't the best quality. Many buses remained in the livery they came in
Hope you enjoy

Ooooh now we're talking

1 - ex UTA 1535 which was both MO 2071 and MO 3207 at Moruya. Although body SB82, it mysteriously acquired body plate SB306 later in life.
2 - I am unfamiliar with the aesthetics of this particular vehicle.
3 - ex UTA 1746 which was MO 2073.
4 - MO 1847, depending on when your picture was taken, was either owned by Allen, Tuross Head, or Marshall, Tuross Head. It is still parked for sale at the Marshall's depot now.
5 - MO 1359 Leyland Super Coment 61 seater (3x2) ex Lowder, Wee Waa new to Ross Pratley, Wee Waa.
6 - MO 2072 Albion Viking VK55 / CC ex Newham's Bus Service.
7 - MO 9405 Leyland Terrior / PMC ex JL & E Johns.
8 - MO 9896 same story as photo 4 (MO 1847) in terms of ownership. Was parked for sale at the Marshall's depot until late last year when it was sold for a children's play centre.
9 - Two truck is still with Marshall's!

Thanks for sharing.

*edit* Photo taken at Marshall's last week showing former MO 1847 MAN 15.192.

Could the yellowy/greeny coloured unit possibly have been ex Glenorie at some stage, and then ex Dural Busways who were taken over by Glenorie in the 80's.

This unit seems to be typical of Dural's vehicles.

Oh, and the ex Newham's VK55/CCMC unit's colour scheme may look familiar to some.

This fleet (Newham's) operated somewhere around Bankstown in the early 90's. The owner is he who operates Kingsgrove Bus and Coach today. In that fleet there were at least 7-8 vehicles, comprising CCMC VAMs, CCMC VK55s, and several AEC Swift 505s originally ex ACTION. Most of the fleet had hailed from Hoppys, these colours, of course, being the old Hoppy bus fleet colours.

Given 6/8 of the fleet were in Hoppy colours, I spose it made sense to paint the two Albions in matching livery.

Fleet numbers were only introduced around 1989 at Rowes/Busways. I think this unit may have been sold before then.
