Put me down for 2 people, If this is going to be cancelled the sooner the better so interstate guests can be catered for, I'll throw something together should this get the can.

If this tour is cancelled (hope not) I will still be in Adelaide 28, 29 & 30 January as I have already booked my airline tickets.
If cancelled I will like to catch up with others on the day and would like to have dinner somewhere (not fast food) also to catch up on the Friday night (28th)
Of course if tour is a goer, see you all on the tour.

PM me if you would like to catch up over dinner on the 28th or 29th if tour cancelled

As sorted of 'related' to this discussion, can I ask what approximately it would cost to hire say an older bus such as an SL200 from one of the companies for a day for some suburban running? ... or indeed, what was the cost per head has been on previous tours.

It would be good to get a feel for how expensive it is to hire a bus.

For reference, it cost $280/day to hire a 21 Seat MiniBus with 200kms travel from Avis, with Full Insurances, self drive. Can assure you that it will be more expensive, as you will require a driver who works for the company to operate the SL200, as I don't believe any company allows you to self-drive large buses.

Yeah, but thats what I mean getting a bus with driver from TT or Southlink, or even one from a private operator, that has B58's or SL200's in their fleets - the costs associated with that.

I assume no commercial operator anywhere in Adelaide is running B59's anymore...

The only B59 i can think of that is still in operation in SA is for "Islamic College" - painted white and green, most B59s have been sent Interstate to QLD, Privately bought and Scrapped.

You can count me in as another one! Thankfully my roster person (who happens to be another board member!) has rostered me off for this day! :D

@ The Mayor – if you can PM me what you need from me that would be great and I can go from there. I look forward to it! :P
Time to get bus priority and tram priority through the city and suburbs.
Time to police bus lanes which are used by arrogant car drivers.
Time to work for better timetables and better connections.

What time do you think we will return? Also, lunch stop or byo?

I'd suggest taking plenty of fluids (ie Water) with an estimated top in Adelaide on 39 degrees.

This is what Steve posted on Facebook about tomorrow (for Baytram and others info)

Dont forget the tour this Saturday folks. Departs Franklin Street, outside the Bus Station at 8:30am. The bus should be ready and waiting in the City at about 8:00am. Unfortunately drinks will not be available on this tour so please make sure you bring your own. It looks like being about 35 on Saturday. There will be plenty of stops for drinks, lunch and photo's.

Cheers,
Wayne

BTW, tour due back in City at 5.00pm.
