Unfortunately it hadn't arrived yet. Obviously I was hoping to get the opportunity to photograph all three together, but, alas, no.

2072 has been out for a bit now - see it at Mirrabooka often.

Today 2072 was doing the 414T ex Stirling at 1038 hours.

1161 sighted on Great Eastern Highway in Kalgoorlie this afternoon on Speacil no 7 run. 1161, 1163, 1502 and 1503 now look like the refurbished buses you see in Perth but with the TransGoldfields logos.

Saw 2082, 2083 & 2085 at Diesel Motors today.
43, 45 & 46 were transferred from Joondalup to Malaga yesterday, but are not anticipated to see revenue service in the Morley contract area at this stage.

According to Live Train Times 2 6-Car Sets are running Perth-Showgrounds express and off-peak W pattern services have returned for the show. (These services stop at Greenwood).

Showground Express uses turnback siding at Perth

Postby <smarTTrams> » Tue Sep 28, 2010 3:28 pm

I saw one of these 6-car Showground Expresses arriving from Showground waiting to enter Perth Platform 9 late Sunday afternoon. Some 10 minutes later I saw from Beaufort Street Bridge that it had entered the turnback siding immediately east of the bridge.

It waited until the scheduled Midland-Fremantle 4-car set had pulled into Platform 7/8 before moving into that platform itself.

The points leading into this turnback siding have a two-part set of points which have a swing-nose frog. On foot on the Beaufort St Bridge you get an excellent view of the operation of this set of points.

Again late yesterday afternoon I saw a similar train waiting in the turnback siding prior to doing its next run to Showground.

I recall that also last year the W Pattern daytime off-peak trains deleted as part of budget cuts were re-instated on normal weekdays during the Royal Show. (I don't know whether the re-instated W Pattern trains last year stopped at Greenwood.)

Extra W Pattern services not listed by TP

No, they didn't tell anyone last year either. I think it is just to keep the info as simple as possible for people who don't normally use the trains and are not familiar with train stopping patterns, BusSpotter97.

Or perhaps they're afraid that if Col found out they'd be in the poo!

I spotted 1103 (being a Bayswater (?) bus) doing a 427 from Stirling to Warwick as I was doing my 427 the other way passing the Stirling council offices this morning.

Leigh.

There were a fair few 6 car sets on Showgrounds Express this morning. Not an Unusual Observation but I've seen every newer B Set today from Set 80 to Set 92.
