I've been meaning to find out, Does anyone know the background story behind that A330 with the blue tail and Stars? The tail looks familiar of a European carrier (for some reason, Luxemburg keeps popping in my mind)

I saw it at Melbourne Airport recently when I was heading off to Bali

Edit: Even if I could get the registration off Someone would be enough for me to work it out myself...

Brendan03, you might like to try Airliners.net. This is a site that is raved about by all who enjoy aircraft photography. I took a photo of a plane at Sydney Airport as I was another plane leaving for Chrtstchurch, and later identified who and what it was purely off the registration and Airliners.net. :)

I'm already a member there, I was just hoping someone (perhaps the photographer) could tell me the registration, saving me hours of trawling the Civil Av forums

I think (stand to be corrected) it is hired by the defence forces as a charter plane to move Australian troops.

You wouldn't be able to magnify the registration on that photo to give me a number, could you?

After talking to a friend, He said it's 'Strategic Aviation' (which after Googling, Shows up it is indeed a troop transporting airline) - Anyway, The Aircraft is ex Air Luxor (That's where I was getting Luxembourg from... Go my Tail recognition skills!)

Thought I'd share that.

It seems Strategic have gone onto bigger and better things

I guess the A320 does the Curtin to Perth flights and the A330 the Denpasar flights (as well as the Afghanistan ones?)

If you are referring to the A330-200, that actually came before their A320s

Here is a picture that a friend of mine took for me. I was flying that A380 in the picture and is the same plane and same flight that the privious picture was taken.
Incase you are wondering the picture was taken after I had just taken off form Kingsford Smith Intl (YSSY).

I made one mistake  , handeling which is actually handling, I was just typing fast.
And What do you mean by what series flight sim do I have. Cause if you are indicating that I have flight simulator, I actually do not have any of those games.

Also, cool photos there lemon. I really like them.

Wow that's amazing, GeneralBus! That photo looks exactly like this one http://www.airliners.net/photo/Qantas/A ... 1468728/L/ from Airliners.net and it was taken at London, Heathrow! What are the odds?? Do you happen to know A J Best from London? Do you have permission to use his photo?

Of course, if you actually do fly for Qantas, you'd be able to tell me what the 3 main shapes/symbols are represented on the hologram on your ASIC and also what the two 6-digit numbers mean. :)
Cheers!

If you look closely at those two A380 photos, the plane is at a slightly different angle in those two shots...

Finally got some shots from work today. Up close and personal with an Airbus A330!! :)

The new and the old: Qantas A330 lined up with the old TAA DC-3.

Magnificent beast. Airbus A330.

Yours truly under the nose of the A330.

Apologies for the blotches on the lens. It was raining slightly at the time.

More (better) pics to follow once I'm on line maintenance :)
