Post by venturatiger »

Hi there, here is a shot of a new Bus for Green's taken in North Rd. Ormond this afternoon, no Chassis Badge on it but is probably an Iveco

OMG THAT THING IS HIDEOUS!!!!

The body is hideous, the colour scheme is hideous, and the use of Comic Sans as a font is hideous!

Have we just found Australia's ugliest bus???

Nice photo BTW.

What a lovely looking bus! Absolutely stunning. Good body, great colours that work and the signwriting is just right.

I think we've found Australia's nicest bus.

For comparison, over in this thread there are some previous pics of another version of their livery:

Personally I prefer that one - the yellow doesn't make for a good combination. But at least it makes for something different!

The old one looks better in white instead of yellow.

Evo II is one of the best looking body, the best combination is STA's Euro V Volvos
Detroit 6VT92/ZF 4HP500...the best bendi bus power train!

Hi All,

Well at least the "Comic Sans" font was passed over from the previous bus m/o 6203. Now this paint job is different, it beats the all over white of an "un-named" company to the north of Thirroul. Striking was my first thought when I saw the bus and bright comes into it as well with the yellow. venturatiger, thanks for posting it, I like, I like alot is there plans that more buses will be done in this scheme? The scheme is definitely gonna have it's lovers and haters, I'm a lover of the scheme because it's bright and very different from the norm.

I think it looks great! Isn't it great to see a company with a livery? Not a bit of white! Alcoa wheels. Fantastic.

Hi All,

Just looking at that bus again, all it needs now is the Southern Cross stars on it somewhere with Australian Proud under the stars. I think that the scheme is real patriotic.

With some adjustments, makes me think how the green & gold Met livery might have looked on a low floor..but minus the Comic Sans font for starters. :P

Kind Regards

Let me start off by saying that, in my opinion, this livery has the potential to induce sudden unexpected nausea.

It is, therefore, somewhat ironic that I recently nominated on this board, a vehicle with an almost identical mix of colours, as one of the most attractive liveries around the town. I speak of the A.L. Tours Hino tag coach with Austral Denning body!

A green, yellow and black combination as in this operators tones has a lot of potential, but I don't know that this has made best use of them. Beats all white though and worth the points for trying. I remember on some of the early vehicles the green with a black waistband and yellow edging looked great on the old CCMC styles of the '60's. I prefer the yellow to the white though.

I can see that the waist area at the rear is going to be problematic in this low body style where you want to add another colour. I thought Blue Mountains Bus Co has tackled it well with the flowing ribbon colours.
Think for yourself, while it's still legal !

Yes the livery is very bright , but it will stand out in a crowd. These days we are so used to not seeing many bright liveries that this hits you straight away , my initial reaction when i first saw it was why, but it is growing on me the more i look at it

That shot from Dean is brilliant - one of the best looking buses. The white goes better with it IMO.

The livery is very 'busy' and complicated for the bus, having regard to how 'busy' the bus itself is, with all the hatch, window, skirt, headlight lines of varying angle and depth.

I prefer the white myself, but appreciate the boldness of the yellow.

Did Green's have yellow in their livery ages ago and this is a flashback, or is it the first time they've used it??

Job done.

It certainly does look different with the yellow when compared to the white.. wonder if the white on the other buses in the fleet will slowly disapear overtime now.

Green's had a bone/brownish colour above the window line until the '90s. I think the last bus was m/o 6263 - Bedford/CCMC. With the disappearance of John J Hill's green and yellow colours I suppose the colour combination is OK to use.
