Seen along Lonsdale St, Kinetic bus 955 has lost its smartbus livery and is now in PTV livery making it the first CB60 EVOII to be converted from smartbus livery.
Kinetic bus 912 has also had its Southport flip-dot display replaced with a new Hanover white LED display.

As a car passenger, I went past Dysons bus #1122 which was stopped at North Rd. Reservoir that was going to Lalor on the 566 at 8 pm. It had police cars parked in front and behind it with an ambulance there and people looking on. Does anyone know what happened?

Reddit topic on Moonee Valley Coaches losing the 503 and 506. The last Moonee Valley-run services will be on the 29th, with Dysons taking over on the 1st of March.

Moonee Valley Coaches wrote:Important Note to Passengers

The Higginson family now in its 3rd generation, has operated route 506 Moonee Ponds to Westgarth for 60 years and the 503 Essendon Station to East Brunswick for 37 years.

Due to the recent State Labour Government announcement for family operated Public Transport businesses, we will cease to operate our two services on the 29th of February 2024.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of you for your loyal patronage and support, it is because of you that we have been able to operate a successful family business for all these years.

Whether we took you to school, work, shopping or for leisure it has been a privilege to operate these services for you.

Garry Higginson along with family and friends will operate the last two trips on both services, Thursday 29th February route 503 from Essendon Station at 5:40pm to 7:20pm then the 506 from Moonee Ponds at 8:10pm to 9:30pm.

When we pull into the Moonee Ponds terminus for the last time it will be emotional and sad, I'm sure there will be a crowd to witness this historic event. The End of an Era.

Thank you to all.

will be interesting to see if Dysons will acquire the entire fleet, just the public buses or the Ivecos in the PTV livery. If they do indeed end up acquiring the route buses in the Moonee valley coaches livery, it will be interesting to see if they end up repainting the newer buses into their livery or in the PTV livery. Its also interesting that this is Dyson's first Metropolitan acquisition since 2012

Spotted onboard Kinetic bus 140 today whilst travelling around Doncaster was a newly installed Consat telematics driver unit and PID screen (similar setup to Ventura), the existing 2nd gen LED PID was still fitted but disabled.

Kinetic have been trialling Consat on a very small portion of its fleet as part of a trial, but only with the PIDS.

Buses 140, 4000 and a couple of electrics are being used as part of the trial.
