All I get in both places is "Timetable not available" for the Forest ones and nothing for the Busways ones.

From Busways email

Effective from: Monday 20 November 2023.
New timetable applies to all routes – both regular and school services.
Plan your trip at transportnsw.info
The timetables dont appear to be available yet on Transport for NSW.

There are timetable changes to Region 6 services earmarked for 10/12/2023:

https://transportnsw.info/news/2023/tim ... bus-routes

Basically service improvements all around, with some of the following routes probably going to get the Frequent branding:
  • 389
  • 433 (with some services diverted from Route 431, with 431 reduced from 15 to 20 min headways, and 433 increased from 15 to 10 min headways)
  • 438X/438N
  • 442
  • 504/504X
  • 470
This is pretty phenomenal - especially when we have bus driver shortages?

My other question is whether the 504X (which has no stops between Drummoyne & Town Hall), will be running through the new Iron Cove Link tunnels from Monday 27/11 onwards?

Most or all improvements appear to be at the expense of other routes so a reallocation of resources with probably no need for extra. Are they are still running a reduced timetable?

Reducing the 431’s frequency is sensible, it is paralleled by other routes for most of its journey and the outer end where it was previously the only route is now also served by the redirected 370.

I know it's not answering your question, but just to note 504X is a one way service from the City to Chiswick.

433 and 504 improvements appear to be caused by reallocation from the 431 and 504X respectively. 389, 438X, 442 and 470 improvements aren't explained by reallocation. Entirely likely that TSA has hired enough extra drivers to cover the demand, region 6 is one of the most populous regions after all.

The improvements to 504 (currently 15 min off peak to 10 min off peak from 10/12) are quite significant. Duck shuffling some odd 504X trips won't be sufficient.

Some peak hour only route 503 services will be converted into route 504 services. There are also plenty of buses available during the off peak to boost off peak frequencies.

Both routes 438X & 470 will have “Early morning/late evening frequency improved from every 30 minutes to every 20 minutes throughout the week”. Both routes will also have improvements to peak services and also both routes use Martin Place as a terminus. These factors would allow both routes to be scheduled in tandem with each other when building shifts.

The service changes predominantly affect Leichhardt depot so there is the possibility of transferring buses between depots. There are new buses that are waiting to enter service, who knows when? The group of Custom Denning Element buses at the TfNSW yard at Leichhardt have been sitting idle for 12 months plus there are some new Custom Denning Element units as well.

Today I saw a sign at Museum Station on Liverpool St that mentioned a permanent minor route change for route 440 to operate via Wentworth St.

Nothing seems to be noted anywhere online about it?

What will it do now? Not service Museum Station at all? There is a No Left Turn for vehicles over 9m from Oxford St into Wentworth Ave too.

There is a new bus stop showing on Google Maps on Wentworth Ave northbound, called "Wentworth Av after Elizabeth St" - https://maps.app.goo.gl/mkcqca5CXukbLYox7

Set the TfNSW route map for the 440 to 10th December, and it shows eastbound journeys as running two paths, one via Museum and one servicing the Wentworth stop - https://transportnsw.info/routes/detail ... /440/74440

Bondi Junction cycleway works from the 10th. Museum Stand A permanently closes. Buses 311 and 440 will be using that stop at Wentworth Ave.

It will have to skip Museum Station as there would be no right turn from Elizabeth Street to Liverpool Street due to the new cycleway.

Because as everyone knows bike lanes serve more people than bus lanes. 40+ passengers per bike, right?

Not the end of the world as the walk from Museum to Oxford St is a couple hundred metres. Dumb though

The new 440 PDF timetable is now available and indeed shows the new route on the map (last page) from this date - https://transportnsw.info/documents/tim ... 231210.pdf

No updates yet apparent on the 311.
