Interesting those are going when they have a few years left until their 20th birthday, the youngest of that batch just 12 years old.
Been noticing a lot of Transdev buses not having operational airconditioning, they can get a bit stuffy. I asked the driver nicely if the A/C was operational, but got a rather standoffish response and told to sit near a window.

Electric bus is under testing on route 246, will hopefully take on passengers next month. Costs $800,000 to buy, so double the price of a regular bus, so will have to be determined whether it's worth the investment or not. See here https://www.busnews.com.au/industry-new ... -melbourne for more details

Re: Transdev Melbourne News 2019
That's because the CB30s are typically crap to the point that even the 1998-vintage O405NH fleet are more valuable. The current fashion to have the ex-SmartBus 550s in plain white makes them look even newer than the current lot.scott wrote:Interesting those are going when they have a few years left until their 20th birthday, the youngest of that batch just 12 years old.

Was on 906, Designline 'Citybus' 558 on Wednesday morning. The A/C was very poor, and no windows to open.

Sighted at The Pines on Sunday was a new addition to the Transdev fleet, bus 183 a Optare Solo with rego BS05FL. Same specs as previous units only difference was a perspex security screen instead of mesh.
Bus 182(Gemilang/Scania) had its original mesh screen and loop barrier replaced by a full perspex security screen enclosure.
Bus 1186 (Volgren Optimus/Scania) has entered service, rego BS05BJ.

Must be as a replacement to the Toyota Coaster bus #006 which was withdrawn in late May this year.BluDART wrote:Sighted at The Pines on Sunday was a new addition to the Transdev fleet, bus 183 a Optare Solo with rego BS05FL. A few more of Transdev's buses have been withdrawn recently
i.e.
- PTV #535, 536, 546, 552, 555 & 557
- Smartbuses #564, 567, 570, 575, 576, 578
And I assume there'll still be plenty more that'll be withdrawn soon.

Transdev's Electric bus #3000 appears to be doing Christmas Charity gift delivery duty, as reported below. The bus has been nicely decorated for the Christmas season

Also, does anyone know if bus #140 (the one that was involved in the accident in January this year) back in service? I haven't seen it in service since and was curious to know what had happened to it
Thanks

Route 903 was bypassing Chadstone Shopping Centre for a number of hours during the day today: https://twitter.com/Transdev_Melb/statu ... 9531766784

If it wasn't bad enough that only a 30 minute bus frequency operates on the busiest shopping day of the year! Additionally, DFO Essendon was not serviced today either due to forseen traffic congestion, even though route 903 is the only public transport service that goes thereTransdev Melbourne @Transdev_Melb
26/12 - R903- Due to Heavy traffic around Chadstone Shopping Centre services towards Mordialloc will be bypassing Chadstone Shopping centre . Passengers are advised to make their way to stops on Warrigal Rd and join services there. Apologies for inconvenience

There's still so much happening with buses on Boxing Day that Daniel Bowen can still make a write-up: The mess that is Chadstone buses on Boxing Day – 2019 edition
I'd post any important, bus-related links I had, but they're outdated anyways.

Re: Transdev Melbourne News 2019
Time has flown! Believe it or not I've just joined this forum! Will never forget this! I'm very thankful my instinct kicked in and I turned enough so I was spared the brunt of the collision. The bus stopped itself and I looked down to see I wasn't pinned so stood up straight away. Cut a long story short I ended up getting out through the driver's side window and spent the night at RMH for observation and returned home the following day. Was back behind the wheel three weeks later. Scary thing is I was almost involved in another head on six months later at Airport West when some flog was distracted and came on my side of the road. Turned away just in time. Was driving the old Volvo so the horn wasn't loud like the Scanias and fortunately we were only going about 40kmh.Heihachi_73 wrote:Ouch. 140 is one of the newest ones isn't it...
