Sets 10&11 both in service today following refurb

16 should be in refurb in the next few days or weeks maybe unless it's already gone in

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2019
I am wondering how much of the train network is fully step-free accessible, line by line - that's both level access from the platform to the train and accessible access (ramp or lift) between the street and the platform? The Transperth website is not entirely clear. I wish they used little wheelchair pictograms beside station names on the timetables to make this information easy to discover.
Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2019
I'm pretty sure every platform is wheelchair-accessible from the street, via ramp or lift. Some are better than others, but wheelchair users shouldn't have any issues at any station.tonyp wrote:I am wondering how much of the train network is fully step-free accessible, line by line - that's both level access from the platform to the train and accessible access (ramp or lift) between the street and the platform? Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2019
Then the stations missing from this list below have a non-wheelchair comliant gap between the platform and train door? I am surprised that not every station of the north-south line is listed here. I would have thought that they had addressed this at the time of design and contruction of this modern line.Squiddy wrote:

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2019
Leederville, and some stations on the heritage lines may have “step-free” access, but the overpass ramp gradients to the platforms perhaps are not compliant for these stations?
Almost every station has level boarding platform to train with only a few stations having a larger gap than normal or a height discrepancy. It may just be the street to platform access that lags at most of the stations not mentioned on that list. Either way, roaming CSO’s typically assist passengers on the few journeys that can’t be made indepdently.

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2019
Yes it's possible that some legacy stations fitted with older ramps built to different standards prior to the DDA may not comply with current gradient standards and would thus not make the Transport list of accessible stations. I would have thought however that the entire north-south line would have been built compliant, yet some stations like Joondalup don't make it to that Transperth list. Odd.

Actually Joondalup is on that list but I don't think it is up to date. For example, Aubin Grove is not on it.
Without knowing how they define an accessible station, it's possible that their definition is quite stringent. I wonder how tactile tiling, colourings/markings etc come into play. Many more stations than on that list are definitely accessible by wheelchairs for example, however, it could be a different story for vision impaired people who would rely much more on tactile markings to aid their boarding process.

Swan Transit Midvale based Volvo B7RLE No. 1483 was sighted at Swan Transit Bunbury depot today. I know why, but can't say anything at the moment.
If it's not a ZF, take it back!

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2019
Given that this particular bus is recorded on perthbus.info (and has a matching shot) as belonging to TransBunbury, I think it's fairly obvious why it's there. Older B7s going regional, presumably replacing the older NHs and other miscellaneous buses that are located down that way.Bus-1809 wrote:Swan Transit Midvale based Volvo B7RLE No. 1483 was sighted at Swan Transit Bunbury depot today. Pretty much along the lines, Squiddy... Early Swan B7's to Bunno and Diesel OC's supposedly to Geraldton to replace Early NH's. Don't quote me on that, though.

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2019
I'm interested to see what happens with the older NHs once they're replaced. I suppose they'd probably make their way back here in the meantime to cover the deficit until they're replaced by newbies? Would be nice to see some older NHs around, even if it is only temporarily!Bus-1809 wrote:Pretty much along the lines, Squiddy... Just a bit of speculation, it's been too quiet around here lately.

To summarise my last few days of observations:
1312, 1539, 1736, 1737, 1740, 1745, 1746 and two more unidentified NHs all on Fremantle Wharf being shipped off to their new homes over East
1324, 1325, 1533, 1534, 1542, 1543 all being stored at Canning Vale Depot. All of them are still plated except 1533.
Newbies 2930, 2931 and 2933 (and presumably 2932, but I didn't see it) are all at Volvo's workshop

Saw "White desto" TP2569 doing 100 this afternoon, so along with TP2568, on loan to which Swan Transit depot?

TP1649 has been fitted with DTI CCTV's. Are there any buses having the same thing as well?
Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2019
2568 and 2569 have been moved to Canning Vale in a swap for 3070 and 3079, which now live at Shenton Park. 3049 has also been moved to Shenton Park from Beckenham, 3088 and 3086 have also been moved to Bayswater from Welshpool, all of these are for extra capacity on 950s.
