Interesting to see that ex STA Willoughby 3751 now bears North Sydney Bus Charter accreditation on it, and still has the TfNSW colours and "3751" fleet number intact.
(Spotted at Chatswood operating a rail bus service)

Have to assume there is no compulsion for those buying ex TfNSW buses to repaint them if they don't operate a contracted service?

There was a Scania coach that was repainted into TfNSW livery a few years ago, so evidently no intellectual property issues. Buses sold by State Transit and its predecessors have often entered service in their existing liveries.

How did this one get sold off before any of the 14.5s?

Because it is more "surplus to requirements" than a 14.5 (of which a few have already gone?)

Today on the M1 Motorway in Wollongong a fuel tanker caught on fire resulting in the M1 being shut in both directions. This caused heavy traffic on roads around Wollongong due to traffic diverted off the M1 which resulted in many bus services from Premier Illawarra, Dions and Premier Charters being heavily delayed, some were running up to 60mins late. I even saw two buses on the same route following each other, basically putting the concept of timetables out the window. The majority of services were running between 10-20mins late though and some have had to miss stops due to diversions off the Hwy.

The purchase agreement with STA, does stipulate the blue must be painted over and all logos removed. However it never seems to be enforced by STA or TfNSW...

Lazy approach from STA. Don’t want your logo out there, remove it before you sell it.

Meh. TRBs, CRBs, CRLs - they're all L113s.

As 2724 is the bus that was involved in the accident in Ryde it would most likely be sent back up to Bustech to get it’s front end rebuilt

^ The rear and rear off side of the bus sustained more complex damage compared to the front. The costs of repairing the body such as structural supports, panels and glass would not be cheap although that cost would be compounded and even outweighed by the replacement of mechanical components and could be labour intensive as well.

A few UTA Mercedes O305s that to early graves were sold and rebodied for private operators. In the 1950s, a tram was written off on its first day in traffic, collided with a petrol tanker IIRC.

It was withdrawn from Newcastle in 2015 then reinstated at Port Botany in 2016 less that a month before it was withdrawn again so accreditation was probably never changed to Port Botany

coincidentally that's the same bus used a couple of years back in a Newcastle Perm Bank advertisement, I've been wondering who it went too. Who owned it first, Newcastle Party bus which they loaned to Newcastle Perm bank for an advertisement or Perm bank who then sold it onto Newcastle Party bus.. or maybe a private person before it was past onto either of these companies. I'd say more than likely who ever owned it lent it to Newcastle Perm bank, I don't see a bank going to all that trouble to buy a bus for one advertisement.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to link the video here in this thread but if you can search on youtube with a bit of luck you'll come across the advertisement that features bus CI78UT

3208MO Mercedes Benz of Howard's Bus and Charter is now unregistered. Was a beautiful bus. Will probably join the growing number of buses stored across their depots.
Wishing Howards would paint ex 9205 into their livery and get her back on the road.... drool....

Sorry to see that Scania demonstrator bus 5050 (K320UB Volgren Optimus) with TSA has been withdrawn and gone back to Scania. Lovely bus, hope we see some regular orders of that one

All their recent additions seem to be Denning Phoenix (x5), another country operator that's going with this Australian chassis/body manufacturer.
Think for yourself, while it's still legal !

Some time ago it was mentioned off the cuff, that there would be more changes to Region 6 routes in January 2019.

Is that still going ahead?

^ 20 x Scania diesel units are meant to be transferred from L to K towards the end of this month - possible timetable changes.

- 406, 473, 487 & 493 services have not been updated since the inception of both routes on 20/03/2010.
- 490 has only received a modification of service to operate via Clemton Village in 2015, no amendments to running times or additional services since 20/03/2010.
- 492 has only seen a handful of services extend to and from Scalabrini Aged Care at Drummoyne 2017, no amendments to running times or additional services since 20/03/2010.
- 491 from memory has had 1 x AM service from Earlwood to Ashfield Stn extend to the other side of Ashfield Stn during school days - Elizabeth St & Bland St. no amendments to running times or additional services since 20/03/2010.

Other services such as 407, 408, 415, 478, 479, 480 & 483 from a combined perspective have had modifications to either running times and/order terminus arrangements although no service increases.

Wow, 490/492 must be so darn reliable that not even running times have increased!

Let the rumour mill start on the changes!
