better yet, the death of Metrobus thread? That one was a Metrobus prototype, and the first of its kind (Volvo Custom bodied arctic) to be repainted in tfnsw livery.Fleet Lists wrote:Yes - hence post moved.
By removing the Metrobus livery, it not only sets a stronger mandate for the bus to appear on non Metrobus route, but also vaguely points to ideas of the brand dying.
Curious to see the repainted bus.

^Saw another bus like that on M10. The destos seem to be a bit dodgy on the Euro3 B12BLEs.

Wasn’t 1668 in the batch of B12BLEA CB60s ordered by the STA to replace the northern beaches based O305G fleet so it would have been transferred to Port Botany before becoming a metrobus prototypeJurassic_Joke wrote:better yet, the death of Metrobus thread? Nah it’s this. https://showbus.com/A/Asta1668.JPG . Now imagine that in TfNSW livery - I do want to see it!

The Transit Systems logo is white instead of green like other TfNSW liveried Region 6 buses. I wonder why that is so? Also I have noticed that the picture shows Y run plate at the front. Perhaps Transit Systems doesn't care about run plates and they just leave them as they are?

About the logo, maybe a new thing from TSA since this same thing happened to an ex-Metrolink Bustech VST in Region 3 that got slapped with the TfNSW livery not too long ago and it also received the white TSA logo. I think that was 1267.marcnut1996 wrote:The Transit Systems logo is white instead of green like other TfNSW liveried Region 6 buses. I wonder why that is so? Volgren all day, every day
Dear T80; If the decker's not a Volgren, I'm not interested.
Westbus Fairfield + Dandy Hub = perfection
Good old Collingwood forever.
Long live the potato cake.

Both R3 1267 and R6 1668 have been repainted by Wales at Smithfield is probably the explanation.

According to Fleetlists, these are more Volvo B7 Optimus - pity they haven't jumped on board the B8 hype train. Unfortunately CDC also adopted the dark tinted windows finally - the existing Optimus fleet is one of the few 'modern' buses to have left this out and have fully transparent windows.kypros1992 wrote:From the CDC FB page
On the other hand, exciting to see Transdev is getting B8 Bustechs - thats what im looking forward to the most here

How many buses are expected to be withdrawn from Transdev once the new buses are cascaded into normal service from Station Link?

Probably about the same number as the the number of new buses they get from Station Link. But as usual they will not do it at one time but a gradual process over some months.

So that means all the B10Ms, Hinos and some 0405s will be withdrawn. I am assuming that they will retain some of the older buses for charter services/school services.

That is a matter on which you just have to wait and see.
Looking through the fleet list there are quite a few buses going back to 1993 and earlier (especially at Mount Kuringai) which must all be running on borrowed time waiting be replaced as they will all be 25 years old and older by the end of this year. That also includes quite a few MAN buses which you do not list.
I remember doing a similar exercise a few years ago and guess what. They withdrew some buses which we had not expected.

I'm not sure, as I haven't had the time to look, but if passengers are allowed to stand on buses with seatbelts, doesn't that defeat the purpose of seatbelts?boronia wrote:Are the buses licenced to carry standing passengers? Should be a sign at the rear. If so, seat belts would be irrelevant.
White lives matter too.

Should we start a seperate “StationLink/RailBus observation thread?”
If at the very least for the metro conversion periods?
