Here are a couple of Bustech CDIs I saw in service at Parramatta this morning 26/4/2018

Note the change to an emergency push out windscreen on the Transdev unit. The requirement came into force when these were in build, basically alongside each other.

To do with the number of egress points in case of an emergency. Back windows served as one such point, but with the airconditioning units now sitting above the engine in the back, there's no back window suitable. Blue Mtns Explorer Bus had similar issues with their new BCI decker which delayed its entry into service. Surprised there doesn't appear to be backdating of the rule, as a few deckers still retain the bonded front windscreen rather than rubber mounted.
Think for yourself, while it's still legal !

What about a life hammer mounted nearby?
NSW, the state that embraces mediocrity.
