Re: [Jan/Feb 2018] SA Transport observations
There was (or still is) a Morphettville shift that included a 541 then a 502 round trip, then NIS to Morphetville after the 502. It was in effect in mid 2015.
Re: [Jan/Feb 2018] SA Transport observations
Following an incident on the railway lines at Hove, trains are running Adelaide to Oaklands and Brighton to Seaford. Light City Buses and Southlink are providing sub buses between Oaklands and Brighton..
Re: [Jan/Feb 2018] SA Transport observations
Buses used included 958, 1575, 1803, 1825, 1829, 2857, 2860 & R804, but seemed like there were only about any 4 or 5 of these running at once.

Re: [Jan/Feb 2018] SA Transport observations
This time last year there was a 502 which left Salisbury around 9:30pm or 10:00pm. It was a Morphettville shift. Once it got to Paradise, it had a few minutes to get to Northgate and start a 208 on the up.TA3001 wrote:There was (or still is) a Morphettville shift that included a 541 then a 502 round trip, then NIS to Morphetville after the 502. Re: [Jan/Feb 2018] SA Transport observations
There was one at 9:06PM from Salisbury some time last year that was a Morphettville shift. It did an inbound 541 from Hancock Rd between around 10:15 and 10:40 which then did the 11:27AM 502 then back as a 502, then nis to Morphettville. It was done by 443 a few times. This time last year there was a 502 which left Salisbury around 9:30pm or 10:00pm. It was a Morphettville shift. On 1131 on an M44 at the moment and the vibrations from the gearbox are rather unpleasant, even at 55kph. I don't think I'll be riding it all the way to Golden Grove through the 90 zone.
These buses are a disgrace in my opinion.

Re: [Jan/Feb 2018] SA Transport observations
Looks like big delays on obahn services this morning. Very long queues at all city bound zones at Paradise and Klemzig.
Re: [Jan/Feb 2018] SA Transport observations
The timetable boards on (red go zone) poles disappeared from along O’Connell Street North Adelaide, proabably in the last few weeks. The Real-time stickers with stop codes are still there.

1640 broke down in the middle of Pulteney Street this afternoon. I saw a Torrens Transit repair vehicle take a very quick look at the engine, but couldn't see if it was alright afterwards.

Re: [Jan/Feb 2018] SA Transport observations
What kind of NL202 and where? Not knowing which part of Adelaide you plan to head to in order to catch one makes it a little bit difficult to answer the question accurately.
Diesel NL202s are generally out 7 days a week, from Newton, Lonsdale, and at times ones from Edinburgh North/Pooraka.
The ones at Port Adelaide... and LCB are almost never used on weekends.

For sone reason, the AdMet website doesn't seem to be loading at the moment, at least on my phone. And it's not the service provider.
No RTI available either, but this is becoming the norm between 4-8 PM on weekdays, so nothing unusual.

Have any Mercedes O405NH's or MAN 18.280's been transferred to Mile End? I ask because this morning & yesterday morning I've seen an O405NH running special along Greenhill Road like Mile End buses usually do first thing in the morning & I also saw 1508 yesterday arvo running special along South Rd near the tram line heading north.

Re: [Jan/Feb 2018] SA Transport observations
It's not unusual to see any Torrens Transit bus Not in Service on Greenhill Road. I've seen Newton's buses doing just that on several occasions. It could be that certain shifts have buses heading to or from Mile End for a break to make it easier for drivers if they have to start their next run in the city or somewhere that's closer to Mile End than any other depot.transenthusiast wrote:Have any Mercedes O405NH's or MAN 18.280's been transferred to Mile End? Re: [Jan/Feb 2018] SA Transport observations
On Tuesday I saw the first of the "New" Bus Stops along Grand Junction Road - Stop 35B at Holden Hill on the Southern side. Didn't get close enough to get a picture but haven't seen any others around as yet
Re: [Jan/Feb 2018] SA Transport observations
Stop 53 Hancock Rd, western side, has new plates.

Saw 1334 this arvo down the bay about to commence a 190 to the city & it didn't sound like it was running too well.

Revving up and down? Or revving low? I'll just say, it's a Port bus.transenthusiast wrote:Saw 1334 this arvo down the bay about to commence a 190 to the city & it didn't sound like it was running too well.

Sounded like it was idling rather roughly.

Re: [Jan/Feb 2018] SA Transport observations
That's common with diesel NL202s, but not so much other MAN chassis types. It doesn't mean their engines are about to fail.
Re: [Jan/Feb 2018] SA Transport observations
one must remember the 1333 to 1338 units are all ex serco buses from the nineties 366,367,368,374,375,377 and are getting up there in years hence the problems.
