2 axles v 3 axles

Just a quick one for those who've moved up from driving 2 axle buses to 3 axle buses/ coaches.
What are the main differences driving wise? Do the 3 axles make it easier or harder?

3 axle buses are generally longer, so you have to make allowance for this. More tail swing when you turn.

You need to be careful going over gutters that the tag axle doesn't take weight off the drive, or that you don't bottom out on the rear skid guards, with a similar result

3 axle able to carry more, different load limits (pax / luggage) some 53/57 seat 2 axle coaches are prone to being overweight with a full deck, (normally front axle)
2 axle lighter weight less operating expenses
3 axle more stable on uneven surfaces, better ride / handling capabilities
It all comes down to "horses for courses"

Years ago ( yeah I know still an old driver) I was driving a Landseer between Sutton Forest and Marulan, the cross wind was so strong I struggled to keep to 80kph fro a short distance. Even Sydney Harbour Bridge can have its moments.

I was thinking the same spot when I wrote post above, had some nightmare drives in wind along there.
