CDCM Oakleigh provided standby buses for the evening occupation between South Yarra & Sandringham earlier in the week. Drivers from the Driver group were also out in force behind the wheel of buses from Ventura's Moorabbin depot.

Kind Regards

Spotted this evening in the afternoon peak in the city along Lonsdale St was CDC Oakleigh bus 129 (a route 601Express shuttle livery bus) operating a 605 outbound to Gardenvale.

The 601 buses have been a fairly common sight on the 605 over the last couple of weeks. Given the 601 is reduced frequency, may as well utilise the buses elsewhere.

From the CDC Facebook page regarding a convoy to relocate several new Scania K310UB Optimuses in time for the new network starting Sunday.

Catch our once-in-a-lifetime 14-bus convoy as it makes its maiden journey from Werribee Depot to Ballarat Depot. Estimated time of departure 10am this Friday 27th January. The convoy will travel from Werribee Depot on Industrial Ave via the back of Hoppers, up Palmers Road and onto the Deer Park Bypass and onto the Western Highway towards Ballarat. The convoy will then use Ballarat Bypass and onto Fredrick Road and end its journey at Ballarat Depot in Norman Street.

Tag us @cdcvictoria and use #14busconvoy to share in this Monumental day with us.

Kind Regards

Spotted ones of CDCVic's buses laying over; then departing just after 1700hr from Williams St outside the County Court on a route 605, but interestingly it featured a new fleet number being O98-8015 positioned above the front door, with O98 (O for Oakleigh?)on the back as well.

Spotted today was CDC Ballarat #204 (Mercedes-Benz O500LE, Volgren "Optimus") headed down Separation St in Geelong towards the Geelong depot. The bus had panels missing in the nearside rear of the bus, in the engine bay.

Thanks,
Mitch

Yes O for Oakleigh. That unit which was ex #89 at Sunshine was transferred for the 605 extension

Altona & Werribee buses are getting W***, with Altona’s buses being renumbered in preparation for the move the new super depot at Truganina. e.g. Altona #124 who i saw today is now W224-8012

Yes, buses on BS Plates get the same treatment except the “BS” is not included i.e. Werribee #129 will be #W129-00QR

Are the four digits of the rego necessary? I thought that was the reason for having plates. The extra digits make the fleet numbers confusing.

The rear of the bus only has the fleet number, because the plate is visible. The sides have both, because the sides don't have plates.
