Commercial vehicles in bus lanes

Bus lanes are common in Australia and many other countries, but I have never heard of commercial vehicles being allowed in bus lanes in spite of similarity in size and possibly weight.

Does it happen or would it be a good idea?

Never heard of it. In many places, even motorbikes aren't allowed in bus lanes.

But it might be better for the economy if delivery vehicles had priority over cars in general traffic.
