Last time there was a Config 13 shutdown and Homebush trains were sent to Rhodes, they also showed up as T1 but stopped all to Central (and did not show the City Circle stations) as the line AND trip number change occurred at Central.

There is a rule somewhere in the system to connect both legs of the journey. See Hendikins post above. Not sure why it isn't working with this.

Shame they can't apply this "rule" on the trains.

This is what happens when control of the screens is taken away from the Stations.

Car on tracks at Toongabbie this morning. See http://www.news.com.au/technology/innov ... 6858dd9db8
Looking at Sydney Trains Twitter, services were only returning to normal at 11am.

Who'd have thought a commuter rail line could be affected by a car crash in the morning peak?

I saw similar issues on the weekend that Central Coast trains went to and from North Sydney. It worked at some stations but not at others.

At Wynyard the train I caught back to the Central Coast showed correctly as Wyong via Central but I noticed at Town Hall it was listed as a T1 to Central only.

The trains towards Sydney showed up as 'City Circle' on the headline, but the stopping stations list ended at Central. At Central platform 16 they displayed T1 to North Sydney.

Not quite they haven’t put any seats under the new canopy down the northern end of platforms 1/2 yet but I’ll have a look when I go though Glenfield when I’m on my way back into Campbelltown

Only difference is the sting is in the absurd cost indulged in the insular peninsula on an existing bus corridor.

Illawarra risks missing out on $10bn rail fund because of state government inaction Ben Langford

VITAL OPPORTUNITY: Chris Lamont with the SMART rail report early last month. Picture: Sylvia Liber

The Illawarra risks missing out on a slice of the $10 billion National Rail Program (NRP) because of inaction from the state government, the region’s peak business leader has said.

And while other states have upgraded links to regional cities, New South Wales bureaucrats instead produce “glossy photos” and “long-range plans” that do little for people outside of Sydney, Illawarra Business Chamber executive director Chris Lamont said.

Other states and territories seem to have got the message and are formulating their proposals
- Chris Lamont

Mr Lamont said it was vital NSW fought for a share of the federal NRP fund to advance the South West Illawarra Rail Link (SWIRL) – an electrified dual track carrying passengers and freight between Maldon and Unanderra – and to improve the existing South Coast Line to Sydney.

“The Australian Government and Federal Opposition have both indicated their interest and support for measures that improve rail connectivity between the Illawarra and Sydney,” Mr Lamont said.

“So it is difficult to understand why there would be any hesitation from the NSW Government in making a similar commitment, especially when there is potential funding on the table to fund part of the cost to improve the South Coast Line and construct the SWIRL.”

Old time infrastructure: The South Coast Line was built in the 1800s and trains manage an average speed of just 56km/h between Wollongong and Sydney.
Mr Lamont said the SWIRL could cut travel time from Wollongong to Campbelltown by 70 minutes and to Leppington by 30 minutes, boosting Gross Regional Product by $2.6 billion and providing 1,100 new jobs.

“Other states and territories seem to have got the message and are formulating their proposals,” he said.

“The Australian Government is actively looking for transport projects that connect cities to regional and semi-regional areas. However, in NSW thus far, all is quiet and this means there is a real risk that this region will miss out on funding on offer through programs like the $10 billion NRP.

“Regrettably, the focus in recent times at bureaucratic level has been the development of long-range plans that include glossy photos and statements in respect to the importance of strategic planning but are disappointing in respect to any plans regarding the delivery of rail infrastructure outside the city gates of Sydney.”

Mr Lamont made his comments in a letter to the editor. Read the full letter here.

Just goes to show that this Liberal state government is. full of hot air. They just come up with these mega long term romantic pipe dreams to distract from action now.
Just when it was looking that NSW was finally the go getter state for new infrastructure, we are slipping back to our old ways of being a do nothing, rest on our laurels style of regime.
Worse than do nothing, we seem determined to prevent anything happening now!!

Of course you'd be aware that it's not a metro and is part of the legacy rail network, so it won't get any prioritisation or funding from this state government.

This is the Federal Government's flyer on this initiative.

https://infrastructure.gov.au/rail/trai ... pectus.pdf

I'm not convinced that the NSW govt will come very much to the party on this. It has too much political capital invested in the motorways. Their bias towards the "F6" link rather than improve the south coast rail is obvious.

The Endeavour set to Bomaderry is now painted in the NSW Trains colours (or is that old news?). The improved slipstream doesn't seem to make it go any faster though.

Endeavour set N2 has been painted in NSW TrainLink livery for about 4 months and I’ve seen it at Campbelltown a few times in the last month doing services on the Southern Highlands line it must be now be doing the Kiama to Bomaderry service
