Cavanagh's Kempsey (Dineen) - incl tranfers to Queensland
Cavanagh's Kempsey (Dineen) - incl tranfers to Queensland
As stated in the Cavanagh's/Glasshouse topic, Cavanagh's Kempsey has been taken over by the Dineen Group.
This has not affected the Cavbus operations in Queensland (??) besides a few vehicles being transferred up here.
Currently there are at least 3 vehicles that have been transferred up to QLD and there are possibly more to come.
TRANSFERRED VEHICLES:
4213 MO: Volvo/P&D- at Glasshouse
Unidentified 3 axle coach- at Glasshouse
7748 MO: King Long (on fleetlists)- at Logan as 028 XJB.

The sale to Dineen is confirmed? in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dineen_Group but it was only posted there on 20th August, no reference provided and I suspect it was posted by none other then Mtr hence not a guaranteed post in Wiki.

Re: Cavanagh's Kempsey- including tranfers to Queensland
It's made the Cavanagh's fleet list and it's even dated 1/7/17 so I believe so. And apologies about the reference, it has now been added in on the Dineen page.Fleet Lists wrote:The sale to Dineen is confirmed? in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dineen_Group but it was only posted there on 20th August, no reference provided and I suspect it was posted by none other then Mtr hence not a guaranteed post in Wiki.

And how did you conclude in Wiki that 48 units were included when the fleet list shows 62?

It was just an estimate because I am aware of the Port Macaquarie operation and the fact that a "separate fleet list" is going to be made, and also the fact that there are a few transfers (therefore why I created this topic). But I will change it back to 62 if you wish.Fleet Lists wrote:And how did you conclude in Wiki that 48 units were included when the fleet list shows 62?

That raises two further questions:-
1. Does the Port Macquarie operation still exist?
2. If it does, was it included in the takeover by Dineen? If it still exists, which is doubtfull, I would be surprised if it was not included. The webpage http://www.cavanaghs.com.au/portbus/home.html can not be relied on as it is no longer linked to from the main Cavanagh website.

Fair enough on that one. And I asked the same question about the Queensland operations being taken over but no one answered so I am assuming no.Fleet Lists wrote:That raises two further questions:-

Back to 62 we go then...
And what about the other Cavanagh "depots" that are listed on wiki? Because I googled all of them and nothing came up so I will remove them too.

I suggest that you hang on and wait you get the actual fact - Wiki does not like speculation and rightly so.
Just because you do not find the depots by googling, does not mean they do not exist.

As of today Portbus is still operating with around 20 buses. Not sure what the go is with the takeover.Fleet Lists wrote:That raises two further questions:-

Best to wait for facts rather than to speculate. All will be resolved in due course.

Just to confirm the 3 axle coach at Glasshouse is former CI 07 PP (also at Cavbus Logan until 2016 as #60)

Looks like the Dineen Group have sold the Portbus operation to Trish & Daniel McGrady.

These guys have a Facebook page, announcing on 3rd Feb that Portbus had been taken over from the Cavanagh’s.
Anyway, regardless of who it was taken over from, I guess it’s official... Cavanagh’s is now out of NSW therefore solely a QLD operation (correct me if I’m wrong)

The Cavs certainly like it up here!

For QLD... noticed a couple of NSW fleet list changes
According to the list-
TV 451 is now in Queensland (with Cavbus)
#97 7522 MO has been in NSW with the Dineen Group since the takeover.
