Like I said there is no mention about the 369 route in the actual article.
Looking to getting more Transperth bus, train and ferry models made up through Transit Graphics.
Currently driving for The Transporter & Buswest Wangara.

Transperth Service Changes - 2017

Post by shinjiman »

Mr OC Benz wrote:Route 335 isn't being withdrawn. In fact, two additional trips will operate in each direction (from Ellenbrook in the AM and from Midland in the PM).

In addition, Route 355 will commence operations. Monday to Friday only at a 30 minute peak and hourly off-peak frequency, between Whitfords Stn and Ellenbrook Town Centre via Gnangara Rd.

Both routes will appear on Timetable 98 (it just hasn't been uploaded yet, but they are in the online timetable).
Just saw the timetable in the PDF format for now.

Just found out there's two errors in the timetable.

The first one was spelled out one of the suburb name at the front page correctly.

The second one was in the eastern part of the map, the route 355 is missing on the outer part of the map.

Interestingly the notice for the planned service changes for route 355 etc on the TP website lists route 369 in the heading.
Maybe there is something to this!

If route 369 is true, it's a waste. There's already 970 and 384 running frequently enough between Mirrabooka and Perth Busport via Dog Swamp.
I'd post any important, bus-related links I had, but they're outdated anyways.

Transperth Service Changes - 2017

Post by shinjiman »

Transperth had just uploaded a short video clip onto its Facebook page to promoting with the new route 355.

By the way I've tried to combine the times of Route 334 with route 355, seems some of their services are connected, so there's possible to take a bus between Ellenbrook East to Whitfords Station with one single trip. :P

Proposed changes to Manning Road services as noted on Today Tonight, still early days though. The West Australian link provides a bit more context

Seems like a very indirect route. Might be quicker during peak times when buses are able to avoid the traffic, but I would have thought that off-peak, travel times would be similar to the current route. On top of that, it bypasses the commercial area along Albany Hwy (maybe that's how they will speed up services - no will be getting on/off along route).

Not a huge fan of the proposal if I am honest. Bus lanes along Manning Rd/Albany Hwy would definitely be preferable - and would allow for upgrades to light rail in the future. Guessing there is just not the political will for bus lanes in this case.

Maybe if a long-term plan for the area demostrated that Fleming Ave makes sense as a public transport corridor over the next 30+ years I would be convinced, but this seems more like an opportunistic project that does not integrate with any other plans. Remove some corners from the route and show me a vision for the area in a decade or so and maybe I will change my mind.

Seems like one solution to time savings along Albany Hwy... A lot of traffic lights, with a lot of waiting between them. It is often gridlock right the way along the existing route during peak times, so this is an understandable "quick fix" to the issue, I'm guessing.

Have to agree with 'theenglishguy' in that it seems a bad decision in the long run. I'd like to be optimistic, and think its a band-aid fix until someone allocates the time and money for bus-lanes and bus priority in this area.
