Huon Bedfords [identification]

Post by LocoLes »

Whilst things are somewhat quiet on the Tassie scene I have attached photographs of an unidentified fleet 'on the hill behind Cygnet' plus another photo of EJ-3051 from the same fleet parked at Huonville. The 4th photograph is Bedford DD-8957, also parked in Huonville. Maybe 'local'' knowledge can solve the missing fleet details and bodywork please.

Some hunting around online turned up some details.

DD 8957 registration dates to about 1997, and expired 26.11.2008.
EJ 3051 chassis begins with BLP2DGJ, registration dates to around 2001, and is registered to 22.6.2018.

The green CC would have possibly been ex Grays. The white Ansair Styleliner is ex Redline whilst the orange/brown Ansair is ex Ace Tourist Coaches #28

The operator should be S.A.& P.M.O'Neill of Cygnet,Les.What road was the photo taken on in Cygnet? That should confirm the ownership.

It's taken at Shane's depot/yard. Basically a large driveway with parking to the side. At the end is a large undercover shed with a primitive drive-on "pit" :)

burrumbus, That would be correct - the buses were parked ''in the bush' so to speak :o - on the LH side of Golden Valley Rd approaching Cygnet township. Thanks burrumbus.

Hi Tas Bus Nut..... That caps it off exactly :) Your description is just how I found it Neil although I didn't see the drive-on 'pit' or shed. May have been a 'Joe Blake' or two around up there!
