Transport Minister has announced that it is hoped to have free Wi-Fi on all buses,trains and trams by the end of the year(Trams already have free Wi-Fi).
Tenders have been called for companies to submit tenders.

It shouldn't cost the government anything, as the suppliers will recoup their costs through advertising.

Can't wait for the complaints and whining about dropped connections etc. As if we haven't got enough rubbish to put up with each day.
Edit: and given Southlink's new engine idling policy their drivers won't get any benefit from it at all as it'll be switched off whenever the bus is laying over.

What's the engine idling policy? I recall Hallet Cove and Sheidow Park, engines off during a layover but are you saying this now applies to all layovers.
