Canberra conductors

Post by freedomrider »

Anyone know much about the history of crew operation in the days of the Canberra halfcabs? I've just seen those fantastic pics of the Canberra restored half cab on Facebook. this has aroused my curiosity. Did these buses all have conductors - and when were they phased out? I imagine when the D OF I ran the Canberra services it would have been a matter of prestige to have a two-man crew to impress all the pubic servants and visiting VIPS.
