Help Tasmanian bus drivers

Postby Len36 » Sun Mar 17, 2013 11:45 am

Hi there, I'm a driver for Metro Tasmania. We are currently locked in a pay dispute with management while negotiating our new EBA. (We want 3% & they're offering 2%). The dispute has gone into the public sphere & we're looking for any ammo that may help. Would anyone be good enough to give us an approximate idea what an ACT driver would earn per year? Perhaps a basic starting wage & maybe a three year figure. I understand it may vary a lot. If we are able to show that we are among the lowest paid in the nation, then this may help our cause. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Refer to http://www.action.act.gov.au/About_ACTION/careers and click on "Bus Driver Recruitment Fact Sheet". It gives a brief overview of ACTION drivers' pay and conditions including hourly rates.

http://www.sharedservices.act.gov.au/docs/agreements/ACTION-Agreement.pdf is the full enterprise agreement.
Driver of the last bus to use Belconnen Interchange, 24 May 2009.
