Asset management of bus fleet

Postby Civic Bossman » Fri May 10, 2019 9:33 am

Hi everyone

I was after any info people can provide in regards to any policies or procedures tat the PTA and/or local operators employ with asset management of the bus fleet. I have contacted those that I can directly (awaiting responses), but was just expanding my reach. Any info or pointing towards info greatly appreciated.

I am studying a Masters of Transport and Traffic in Melbourne, and have an assignment on asset management. Being WA born and bred I wanted to focus on TransPerth/PTA. There is the scope to use fictitious data but would like to (at least loosely) base it on real world.

Just looking at things like:
-refurbishment cycles
-are CNG buses managed differently (eg I know they have a 16 year life span on tanks)
-managing vehicle kms (I assume thats the rationale behind depot swapping??)
-any KPIs for implemeting repairs/refurb/replacemnt etc
-what minimum standards are required by the PTA / do operators add to these
-any differences with midi/regular/artic/CATS/school bus fleets etc

Thanking everyone in advance for any assistance
