Anyone know what's with the sudden influx of new B7 rigids? I thought Volvo stopped supplying them last year, or are these ones the last few to trickle through? 2757 is a B7 (whereas 2753 - 6 are B8s), 2681 and 2685 are B7s (Whereas 2679 and 80 are B8s), I can only assume Swan's back onto B7s now but I haven't seen any.

And on that note, anyone know where 2677 - 78, and 2682 - 84 ended up? I've been looking for them for a while now, but I think if they were at Palmyra or Rockingham/Mandurah (or CAT) I'd have seen them around by now. Did they go to Joondalup/Wangara?
Currently working on my bus photography site where I'm aiming to photograph every Transperth bus in Perth - have (almost) everything!

2677 and 2678 are Joondalup's B8 rigids.
Also, 99.99% of the time, the 548/549 are done by Rockingham/Mandurah, so don't expect Freo buses on them.

Cheers!
Officially the last person to tag off the 381 - 20/5/16.
Second last person to tag off the last timetabled 16 - 23/08/19.
Last person to tag off a Transdev Joondalup service - 19/1/20.

2684 is also up at Joondalup.

Perhaps the one time I saw it in Rocko was the 0.01% case ;) Or maybe it's just super elusive as I live in Rockingham and haven't seen it (The one time I know I saw it here was a late-night 549 back to Freo, havent seen it here since)

On another note, I managed to get on board Mandurah's 3095 artic today. I love the new B8s, they're so quiet and powerful. It had 4,100km on the odometer too so it looks like its been in service for about a month or so

Random buses do show up in Rockingham every so often due to change-offs, or Fremantle drivers covering runs down that way.
Pinza wrote:Any idea what has happened to the early 500s at Rockingham? 1234 - 1241.
Apart from 1237 (for obvious reasons - there is a video of it about a week prior) they're definitely at Fremantle.
Pinza wrote:Noted at the Busport this afternoon within an hour were early CNG NHs 1783,1815,1818 and 1819 so they are still being kept busy
The ones left date from around early/mid-2002 to early 2003. Whereas deliveries of Diesels commenced from 1999. Per my understanding, the CNG buses came at the end of the order for NHs. This was around the time a famous (or infamous, depending on your outlook) Labor government came into power, who were particularly bent on Perth operating a fleet of Gas buses. Not that I'm complaining; the naturally-aspirated 1797-1819 lot are lovely.

Regarding 3025, I've only heard speculation about it. Also worth noting, if you're not aware; 1178-1180 were the former Fremantle CATs.

Having read my last post again I put a typo in there, the AOA buses 1178-1180 now at Mandurah were indeed Fremantle CATs not Rockingham, couldn't read my own scribbling. 1179 and 1180 seem to be regulars on the Mandurah foreshore circulars but 1178 is more elusive for some reason. Any info about 3025s whereabouts would be good and I agree those 18xx series buses sound great (1783 didn't though - it sounded like it was about to lose a belt, nasty screech).

Does anyone know if the Perthbus fleeetlist will be updated at some point. Great website but with so much changing its getting behind the game a bit.

Not a clue, it doesn't get updated that often these days. New fleet buses are added once every months or two, but changeovers between depots rarely get updated if at all; For example 1222 is still listed as being at Wangara despite it being in Mandurah for nearly two and a half years now. I've tried reaching out to the perthbus admins but didn't have much success myself

Best we can do is keep posting here I suppose

The movements of Transperth vehicles between depots isn't something that is being kept up-to-date, as there is really no rhyme or reason to the fleet numbering or allocation anymore. Not only do things chop and change about, there is no consistency in fleet numbering in relation to where the bus is allocated, or what type of bus it is. Additionally, there aren't enough people that know of these movements to keep an accurate tab on fleet movements.

Buses delivered new to the Transperth fleet aren't something handled by the Perthbus admin; another person is responsible for this who has the information of chassis nos, engines and so on.
In general, the site is updated reasonably often - this includes the extensive gen on vehicles not owned by the PTA. It is, however, based on the Admin's free time and confirmed information. This is why the disposal of the last Renault artics has not been noted - apart from the very few (less than a dozen) that were on-sold, there is no official details on when buses were withdrawn.

Oh for sure, the movements between depots are almost impossible to track. Last week I was talking to one of the Mandurah drivers who I know quite well, but she was driving 2220 (which is a Rockingham bus, at least until recently). I asked her about it and she said they're always coming and going between depots. Yesterday I also noted 2256 parked in Mandurah Depot (Not sure why though). And then we have buses like 3025 which appear to have just vanished completely... There just seems to be no consistency to their movements and it changes so often, I don't blame them for not keeping it up to date.

But for the new deliveries, I looove new buses. I wanna know where they're delivered so I can go get my fix of 'new bus smell' :D
Plus I'm trying to give basic details on all the buses I post on my site but it's hard when I'm pretty much having to make educated guesses =P

Thanks for that explaination Merc1107, that actually makes a lot of sense. I’m Relatively new to the transperth scene and the numbering system does take a lot of thinking about. I was living in Geraldton until recently and as well as the various early NHs and CNGs 2101-2015 were transferred in in 2012 And 2209 was transferred in from Jondalup back around 2013/14 to cover the Carnarvon bus transfer (1175,1176) and it’s still listed as Joondalup on the transperth site even now

Any idea what has happened to the early 500s at Rockingham? 1234 - 1241
1200 is still at Wangara just saw it in Marangaroo.

Just got back from a quick trip in the south.

Seen at Bunbury amongst others were 1440, 1458, 2117 and 1583 which was one of the buses stored a few months ago I think. In Busselton were 2109 and 2112, 1451 is alive and well in Manjimup (it was hard to identify them but I'm fairly sure one person or two of the ex Loves at Albany coaches were there as well - some that weren't sent to Manheims).

Finally ex Transperth Renault 1083 was seen at a servo in Brunswick in its Avanti tours colours.

Anyone know what's up with the weird headlights on 1800? Noticed them today and piqued my interest. Haven't seen these on any other 0405s, so what's the story?

maybe because the proper light for that is not available on the depot in that time the change is occurs, so they just chuck anything in there

Some of the early 18xx NH Gassies had LED headlights fitted back in 2015.

1800 is the only one with that modification as far as I know or remember seeing. Haven't experienced that at night, so can't give any conclusion on whether they're effective or not.

Thanks for the replies! Shame they didn't put them on more of the 0405s, I think they look pretty cool.

On another note, I'm not sure how often this happens but today I saw 1284 being towed out of Fremantle Station by Transdev's big yellow tow truck (for lack of a better name). I assume it's just broken down and they can't drive it back under its own power, but it's the first time I've ever seen it so I thought I'd mention it =)

Saw 1284 at Fremantle this afternoon in my travels, so we presumably crossed paths.

Merc1107, I believe that answers our question regarding Thunderbird 1! Obviously she is still being used to tow buses...

Re the 1783 comment from a while ago... It's not uncommon to hear Transcom's with squealing belts...

1800 is the only NH Gassie with those headlights.

Suiddy, only 4 B8 Rigids to each operator. Back to B7's now.

Yes 1878- 1880 and a few others have been refurbished, none of the 1300s have been refurbished yet as far as I’m aware, most of the 1600s have been refurbished it seems as though 1435 will be done before 1362 at this rate

Refurbishments won't have taken place on the majority of buses with ThermoKing air-conditioner units yet as these are the later deliveries, and about 8-11yrs old. Some of these OCs are new enough to already have the current paint scheme.
