Sun 13 Aug
From Sunday 13 August, Route 97 services will no longer extend to Leederville Station.
All trips between University of Western Australia (UWA) South and Subiaco Station will continue to operate, however no peak trips will extend north of Subiaco Station.
Route 97 currently operates as part of a longstanding, funding partnership with local organisations. Regrettably, the local council has elected to withdraw from the funding arrangement. As a result, Transperth is required to revise the timetable to operate within available resources.
Transperth apologises for any inconvenience to passengers.

Mr OC Benz wrote:How? The service is part of a funding partnership. If one of them (i.e. the local council in this case) withdraws, then it's not always going to be possible for the remaining funders to pick up the tab. Money doesn't grow on trees for the PTA, so in this case, it needs to be revised to fit within what is funded. Unfortunate, but it happens.

Mr OC Benz wrote:The 352 travels a different more indirect route compared to the 355. The route technically crosses over three contract areas, but operationally wise, I'd imagine it'd make more sense for it to fall under the Midland contract. I guess we'll see.
