Freo/Midland lines being ran by Nowergup depot for tonight and obviously this weekend due to the partial closure of the Armadale/Thornlie line, Claisebrook depot has once again been isolated from the network

I was on new Swan delivery 2542 this arvo while it was running a 403F and not long after on Main St in Osborne Park I spotted 2545 running either a 414 or 404.

Update: These are confirmed newbies at Beenyup.

There were reports mid last year that 2022 had gone to Southern River, however i was aboard 2022 yesterday while it was running a 402F. Either it never left Karrinyup or its back at Karrinyup.

Transperth has begun an aggressive advertising campaign across social media, which includes service announcements such as rail shut downs, as well as advertisements of the new 960 high frequency service.

How did the public transport go for the Adele concert last night and in particular how long did it take to clear people from the venue after the event?

There was nothing in the paper this morning.

Well if their twitter and facebook page (even comments - shock horror ) is anything to go by, sounds like a success. There was an incident on the Mandurah Line that stopped trains briefly during the concert, but everything was back up and running by the time it finished. No idea on time to clear crowds, but at other events at the same stadium, they are normally cleared out pretty quickly (last event buses usually leave 20 mins after event concludes). Given the high frequencies that train lines were operating at until 1am (every 7-10 mins depending on line), they were probably purposely trying to spread out the demand.

Also...

The preliminary numbers are in – and early indications are Grammy Award winner Adele really is a record-breaker.

Early estimates indicate about 30,000 people caught the train, and another 6,500 used the bus.

The biggest single weeknight event on the Transperth system prior to Adele was an AC/DC concert on Monday March 8, 2010. About 28,000 people used public transport to attend the show.

Public Transport Authority Managing Director Mark Burgess thanked passengers for their patience.

“As we expected, services right across the Transperth system were extremely busy, but concert-goers really were excellent at planning ahead and allowing extra time, and importantly being patient and kind to each other,” Mr Burgess said.

“Dozens of extra bus and train drivers, customer service officers, transit officers, service planners, train controllers, and other event staff worked last night to make it all happen – they did a great job moving such a big crowd safely and efficiently.”
