WA Transport General Discussion & Questions - 2016

Post by Mr OC Benz »

I've reintroduced this thread as a new general discussion and questions thread (relevant to 2016) to address the recent spate of posts which don't necessarily fit in with the observations or other existing threads, but are not significant enough to warrant their own thread.

Please use this thread for any general questions or comments related to transport happenings across the state which do not suit existing threads and/or are not significant enough to warrant its own thread. The Fleet Lists contains answers to many of the questions that are typically asked. So please consult these before asking. Please also ensure that if you are asking any questions, be concise and ensure that it can be understandable, so that they can possibly be answered by other members of this forum.

If a topic raised in this thread becomes popular enough, I will split it into a new thread.

The one who catches the Perth Stadium bus like an illegal immigrant by only to gunzel for buses & trains and/or to go anywhere else.

TP3085 always operates the first 654 trip to Perth Stadium.

Hi all, I have a series of buses I want to confirm their depot as, to keep my lists up to date. Don't give me information straight off perthbus.info - I'm not a moron and can look at a website. After your own sightings etc as confirmation. The buses requiring confirmation are as follows. (Thanks in advance)
  • 1358 - Had listed at Beckenham, Perthbus.info states Shenton Park
  • 1484 - Had listed at Canning Vale, Perthbus.info states Midvale - I believe this may be correct as I haven't ever seen it at CV.
  • 1485 - Have listed at Canning Vale, Perthbus.info lists Midvale - Has it moved to Midvale or still at CV?
  • 1536 - Had listed at Shenton Park, Perthbus.info lists Karrinyup
  • 1580 - Had listed at Beenyup, Perthbus.info lists Karrinyup
  • 1668 - Had listed at Canning Vale, Perthbus.info lists Beckenham
  • 1669 - Had listed at Canning Vale, Perthbus.info lists Beckenham
  • 1781 - Had listed at Bayswater?, Perthbus.info lists Malaga
  • 1852 - Had listed at Canning Vale, Perthbus.info lists Beckenham
  • 2349 - Possible move from Kalamunda to Welshpool - awaiting confirmation
  • 2350 - Had listed at Kalamunda, Perthbus.info lists Welshpool
  • 2365 - Had listed at Malaga, Perthbus.info lists Welshpool
  • 2497 - Had listed at Canning Vale, Perthbus.info lists Midvale
  • 2498 - Had listed at Canning Vale, Perthbus.info lists Midvale
  • 2499 - Had listed at Canning Vale, Perthbus.info lists Midvale
  • Status of 3020 to 3023, and also 3026.

2499 is defiantly at CV, unless Midvale has picked up a circle or two. 1485 is also at CV.

Cheers!
Officially the last person to tag off the 381 - 20/5/16.

Cheers for 1485 - I have ridden it multiple times at CV but not in a while. 2499 for some reason I only rode it on a CV circle the other day and forgot to change it lol!!!!!

I looked on perthbus.info and noticed that 2609 and 2611 have been delivered to Palmyra but what about 2610? Did it go to Joondalup?

It will be an Optimus body and I don't know when 2610 will start service, it will be they have done road testing in it and final checks to make sure it can go into service.

All B8RLE/As come standard with the inline D8K 6 cylinder turbo diesel, they'll be similar in performance to their artic equivalents now having said that Volvo makes three models that offer three different levels of performance, the artics have the D8K350 which has 258kW of power or 350bhp, the rigids will most likely come with the base model D8K280 which only produces 206kW of power or 280bhp

Guys, just because a new thread has been created to cater to general discussion and questions, does not mean that you have to ask every single question you have in your mind at once. Especially if the question in the first place either doesn't make any sense or can't be interpreted properly and/or if your first one doesn't even get answered straight away. Doing some of your own research may find the answers you are after.

Users who misuse this thread or seen to be asking too many questions within a short period of time will be asked to slow down their posting pace to ensure that those who do have genuine and interesting questions to ask are not drowned out by other insignificant postings.

Thanks.

Yes, 2609 and 2611 were delivered to Palmyra. However, both have moved up to Wangara along with the delivery of 2612. Not sure if 2612 is operating just yet, but 2609 and 2611 have apparently been cited operating already as of last weekend - they weren't wasting time putting them to good use!

There were obviously trade offs with other buses moving between Transdev depots as well to compensate the new deliveries.

Ticket inspections happen at random. Quite frequently on the trains, especially during the school holidays there are high numbers of ticket inspections to target youths who don't pay because quite frankly they are scumbags who believe everything should be gifted to them on a silver platter....

No, they will not. They are destined for Claisebrook to operate the city cats and replace the OC Midis which will filter out to certain depots (and if you're in the know you'd have a fair idea where).

For the record, there are entire threads dedicated to this, so please use the appropriate search bars in the group first before posting. Cheers.
