Happy birthday Butler station!

One year on from opening we are seeing the forecast 2000 daily boardings, and a 13% increase in total PT boardings in the Clarkson/Butler/Yanchep area

Forgot to post the 26 Aug 2015 diary in
My trip:
TP1680 - Route 99 - Curtin University to Oats Street Station
Armadale Train Line - Oats St to Perth
(Went to the office Norton Gold Fields to do some work experience. Then had lunch)
Back home:
TP2373 - Route 34 - Esplanade Busport to Walanna Dr before Lowan South.

All the extra trips were loaded onto the web timetable and journey planner which made for some interesting reading.

This is all from memory, but I believe they ran a 7.5 minute interpeak frequency between Cockburn and Whitfords, and had 15-minute full length Mandurah/Joondalup line evening services which IMO was overkill. The Fremantle/Midland lines ran every 10 minutes (plus the express trains), and at nights some of the Showgrounds-Perth trains stopped all stations, and so did the full-length trains (no K or L patterns).

Although I didn't actually go to the show, I did alight from quite a busy 2-car C-pattern Armadale-Perth service to see a much less busy 6-car Showground express train sitting idly on platform 6...

Some further observations that I noticed:

>Thornlie was every 15 minutes on Sunday and Monday, with all day time Armadale trains running C-pattern.
>Yesterday the Showgrounds expresses were not used in favour of a double frequency all stations service along the entire Fremantle Line.
>Before the football matches on the Saturday and Sunday the expresses also stopped at West Leederville on the way to the Showgrounds, instead of running dedicated shuttles to each

Overall efforts seem to have been a step up from previous years, which IIRC had normal daytime frequencies on all lines except for the Whitfords/Cockburn weekday doubling of services, and four car all-stations Perth-Showgrounds extras on weekends with the expresses reserved for weekdays only

(Went to Maccas to have some lunch. Had some fries.
TP2472 [Route 98] - East Vic Park Officeworks to Curtin University.
Then walked home from there.

Is it really a good idea to post detailed information about your life on a public forum?

Personally I have no idea why people would want to post their travels on this thread or why anybody would care about others' day-to-day travels on public transport but surely it is neither necessary nor wise to post information like "Went to the Essential Personnel centre at 18 Burton St to talk about my job interview with Tanika Y, job coordinator. Tanika Y replaced Holly King from the 29th Sep because she moved to Newman to start a new job".

Maybe they expected the show to be a bit quieter because of the AFL Grand Final.

Hopefully this year I will have more bus trips when I use my Smartrider.
