So what. The onus on providing public transport is on the organisers of that event and bearing the cost of that provision.. People running in that run are doing it for their own pleasure and prestige. Should Transwa run special trains for the Avon Descent? Next when some major store has a post-Christmas sale will they expect Transperth to provide special trains and buses for the buyers to attend. This whole thing stinks of a "Post-Western Suburbs" scam. Will these events be staged when fuel prices make the use of cars prohibitive?

the organisers did in fact supply free shuttle buses back to the city. it seemed to me by the lenght of the line of buses that they had hired every Coaster in Perth plus many Transperth buses. the shuttle service was on the West side of the oval near the line of 50 portable dunnys.

Good on them, so what does this "Post" story mean.

He Could Have Caught the Train

Postby Dennis96 » Mon Sep 04, 2006 10:31 pm

The complainant's address is in Daglish which is a station on the Fremantle line. According to the Transperth timetables, the 07.30 train from Fremantle to Perth would have got him to the city by 07.57, well in time to commence the race at 08.30.

What was his complaint again?

No such persons named Stace finished the 12km run.

No portion of Troy Terrace is more than ten minutes easy walk from Daglish Station and if they were runners they would have run to warm their legs for the run.
