Looks like Transperth bus route 48 will replace some of the 348 trips after Sunday 9 August since 348 will be withdrawn.

I was on 1778 today it was so slow going up on the hills on the route 41 and it was shaking I wasn't even bothered to record on 1778.

I am not too sure if they are, but I am fairly sure it has had them for a while (a few months).ozi_mister_d wrote:Sitting outside on South Tce Fremantle, just saw 1803 with LED headlights

Wow.. Android has reached ticketing systems now, still I guess it makes it easier to develop for and cheaper than a custom Linux system.TP1462 wrote:2480 has been fitted with the new parkeon infigo E.T.I.Ms

Yep powered by android, was surprised myself too, looks like the 'infigo' as an off the shelf model modified to meet PTA requirementsLawBayly wrote:Wow.. The CAT contract has gone up for tender and closes on the 20th of October, the new contract will commence a 10 year term from the 17th April 2016
The OC replacement program includes for the delivery of 32 midi Volvo B8RLEs, I'm guessing the Claisebrook OCs will be refurbished and moved around to provide extra capacity elsewhere on the PTA network
10-2015/16 financial year (late)
10 2016/17 financial year (early)
12 2017/18 financial year (late)
The CATs are expected to to be fitted with ticketing machines to make use of the real time tracking system, access and utilise Perth busport (when operational) as well as smartrider add value
The B5RH is NOT apart of the next contract it has been stated that it will be removed, tenderers have been advised not to include it in their estimates

Re: PTA/ Transperth Observation- August 2015
Does this mean that the B5RH is becoming the way of the fuel cell busses and it will be removed from service and scrapped or will Transdev use it elsewhere on their network like the OC500LE's?TP1462 wrote:https://www.tenders.wa.gov.au/watenders ... 4F22B42C71

Why scrap the bus, I'm pretty sure they can use it in other Transdev depots, Rockingham can do with a hybrid bus on their shuttle buses to the foreshore

So will the OC500LE CNG buses be removed from the Claisebrook depot and put into other depots?TP1462 wrote:https://www.tenders.wa.gov.au/watenders ... 4F22B42C71

Last person to tag off a Transdev Joondalup service - 19/1/20.

Re: PTA/ Transperth Observation- August 2015
Hmm...Rigid B8's I wonder if they'll use the same ZF transmission as the artics although to be honest a 6 speed transmission is mostly pointless in a bus that is stuck in city traffic all the time. 4 speed voith will do fine for the cat busses.TP1462 wrote: The OC replacement program includes for the delivery of 32 midi Volvo B8RLEs
Honestly I think the because of the 6 speed transmissions and poor acceleration (compared to the B7's) the OC's weren't best suited for start stop CAT busses, it'll be good to see them reallocated to long distance routes (like the 940 and 111) where the 6 speed is needed.
Re: PTA/ Transperth Observation- August 2015
2479 also has one of the parkeon indigo's, but it seems the tag on/off machines are still wayfarers.TP1462 wrote:2480 has been fitted with the new parkeon infigo E.T.I.Ms

2477 onwards have the new e.t.i.ms
New SCVs are coming these new ones have NFC built in which hopefully means in the not too distant future we could see Apple Pay or android pay preferably both being adopted as a form of cashless payment.

Furthermore to my previous post about the cats nothing has been stated in the tender documents about what will happen to the OCs however the gas facilities at Claisebrook depot will be decommissioned once the new contract is fulfilled.

About an hour ago 1334 completed a full length 220, unusual to see a Claremont bus so far from home.
Saturday 06/10/2012: Last passeger to hop off on the final 288F operated by Swan Transit via 1453
Wednesday 07/01/2015: Rode in A set 48 immediately followed by B set 49 (last A set & first B set)

Re: PTA/ Transperth Observation- August 2015
Maybe 1334 was a loan at Beckenham.Transport Nut wrote:About an hour ago 1334 completed a full length 220, unusual to see a Claremont bus so far from home.
Re: PTA/ Transperth Observation- August 2015
i more think is at SR. because BH and CV already have lot of new buses. and i saw 1334 too during 220 School specials from lumen to Armadale, which always run by sR buses. and now most of o405nh midi from BH/CV get transferred to SR.Badbusboy66 wrote:Maybe 1334 was a loan at Beckenham.Transport Nut wrote:About an hour ago 1334 completed a full length 220, unusual to see a Claremont bus so far from home.

Re: PTA/ Transperth Observation- August 2015
How on earth did a person say 1334 from ex-Claremont does the full route 220 from Perth-Armadale. That is fairly unexpected. 1851 and 1852 have moved to Southern River because of Volvos joining in the Canning Vale and Beckenham depot. Don't forget - not all Southern River buses run the route 220. Beckenham/Canning Vale terminate at Cannington, while Southern River buses go direct to Armadale.pasha241 wrote:I more think is at SR. because BH and CV already have lot of new buses. and i saw 1334 too during 220 School specials from lumen to Armadale, which always run by SR buses. and now most of o405nh midi from BH/CV get transferred to SR.
