I've got one of those neat little Suzuki Sierra's that you often see on a frame or a small tandem behind a motorhome. Their a lot of fun, especially off road or on the beach until you have to drive them any distance on the road. The seats lack adjustment and (even though mine has bene retrimmed) are really uncomfortable a poorly located non adjustable steering cloumn makes things just tha bit worse - but maybe this could all be solved by changing one or both front seats. This question will also be relevant for those with old buses who want to repalce a worn seat. What is involved in changing a seat. I've seen a Commodore seat retirmmed and fitted to a Coaster, looked neatto but what is the process to follow? And for professional work where do I start, do I approach a trimmer, an automotive engineer or a wrecker? I want the vehicle to be roadworthy and fully insurable when I finish (not to mention sexy and stylish).
Please mr modified vehicle expert get me started,
Regards
C

Re: Changing the Driver's Seat
The seats and mountings have to comply with ADRs.
I would talk to an engineer before you change anything. There are a few shops around specialising in aftermarket seats, you could try them, too

Thanks Boronia,
That sounds like good advice. Can you recommend anyone in Melbourne - or even suggest where I might look for an engineer? When I look up Automotive Engineers in the phone book what I get is a list of motor mechanics workshops and dealer service centres.
Thanks,

I can not suggest anyone; but perhaps if you contact the motor registration authority, they could give you a list of accredited engineers
