Hi All.I have just bought a Bedford BRP2DZ bus Chassis number 604356. Dated 8-75. PMC body No. 203 dated 2 - 76. I need information about the braking system which seems to be an all air system operating actuators that move the brake shoes mechanically at each wheel and applying the brakes via an air valve. Thanks, Gary.

Got this bus running and it runs just fine. Needed a damper for the fuel injector pump as it was leaking fuel from the damper. New one cost $120.00. Still no brakes. The bus has a bedford 500 cu in. motor. % speed Turner gearbox made in Australia.

Here is the Bedford brakes manual, you will need to go through their online store to purchase it but it is a free download. http://www.bedfordtruckparts.co.uk/stor ... -p74154009

Thanks ax8. Manuals downloaded and were a great help. I have the brakes working. I still need to find a repair kit for the parking brake spring actuators. The piston seals leak and so the park brake will not release by air.

Happy to report that I have successfully moved the bus to its new resting place 310 Kms away. Bus ran well. Developed a leak from power steering ram and has a fuel leak from the injector pump body. Will be researching replacement of rear brake actuator/spring handbrake units. Setting bus up for residence. It has already been adapted for living but needs a refit.

You do know about the strength of those springs, ? If you try to take the brake chambers apart the spring can kill you, plenty have died as a result of trying this, get an expert to help you

Forget the Bedford engine, look at getting a newer Isuzu diesel.

Fuses probably hidden away under the dash somewhere

Model and GVM
I have a bus/motorhome it has no body ID tags.
The chasis Number is CH86305P the chasis VIN is PDKIB71454074P
It has 16inch rims and 8.25 x 16 tyres
The wheel base is 1450mm or 13.6 ft 24 ft total bus length or 8 mtrs Medium size bus.
It has a holden 308 v8 motor and a Turner 5 speed gearbox.
The side door is behind the front wheel.
It has the fish mouth style front with single headlights.
I need to know the correct model and chasis weights for registration. The model alone is not enough because i cant find any chasis specs to match any models.
i have been told it is a VAS2 1971 TO 1974 with a Howard Porter body from Perth West Aust.

any replys would be helpfull
