Info on Albion Viking VK43 with Leyland 410 Engine

Postby Ausiray » Mon Aug 11, 2014 9:25 pm

I have a 1969 Albion Viking VK43 bus with a Leyland 410 6 Cyl Turbo engine
converted to a motor home.

There is an old rev counter in the dash but it is not connected.
It has wires which indicates it connects to the alternator
but there are no connections on the currently fitted alternator.

Any one have info how I can connect a Rev Counter to the Leyland 410.

Any Idea where I might get a workshop manual for the bus and engine?

Look half way along the block on the exhaust side and if there is not a sender unit there will be a plate with two bolts in it covering the hole.

Hi Mr Scania,
Sorry I am having trouble with my internet.
Just saw your post, thanks.
I just checked and there is a sender where you said it would be, Now I need to trace the 2 wires.
I think the Gauge Has had it but can check it once I trace the wiring.
Bit wet to go under the bus at the moment.
Any Idea where I might get a service manual / workshop manual for the bua and the motor.

Regards
Ray

I dont think that it would have come out turbocharged.

Currently the Bus / Motorhome is at East Kurrajong, Near Windsor NSW.
It has a Turbo on it.
On the plate attached to the engine
Engine Type E0 410 / 680 C/10
Engine Number 7507308 X

I will take a couple of photos tomorrow
