What is a HiDeck bus?

I am at the early stages of a bus conversion project and am learning as much as I can about buses.

I recently found a bus adertised as a hideck bus:

I just thought this had lots of storage underneath so the passengers sat high however it stated the bus has a "downstairs" toilet !

Is this type of bus the same as a double decker?

No it is not the same as a Double Decker.
The toilet is down some stairs. Probably in the middle of the coach.

I would guess this means the toilet is located somewhere between the storage bins under the floor level so there is effectively the same potential living area in a HiDeck coach as there would be in a standard single deck coach.

Somewhat - however the stair access to the toilet would take up probably the equivalent area as 2 rows of seats - did you notice it has an 8V92 Detroit? - nice engine but damn thirsty - I would be more inclined to get a 6V92 as it would be kinder to your wallet with equivalent top end torque (albeit with slower acceleration - not critical unless you are in some sort of race

Simes are known for quality maintenance.

You can see on the interior photo a yellow stripe on the drivers side floor only just in frame- that will be the top of the stairway to the lavatory.
