Hello, I have a 1980 Domino motorhome V6 GM auto which is licensed for 15Ton. I have no ID plates. Trying to upgrade the GVM . Has anyone been through this exercise or know of anyone who has? Cant write to the manufacturer as they no longer exist.
Thanks
Joe.

You don't say where you are, but you will have to go a transport engineer. Your local registry office should be able to give you names of qualified locals.

Thanks boronia, the transport engineer is saying we either have to get info from the manufacturer or find someone who has already done this exercise. This looked a good site to try. We are in Perth
Cheers and thanks

Try another engineer, as far as I know its just a simple process of figures. That is in NSW. Tyre sizes and loadings are the main factor as far as I know.

Bus and Coach Parts in Brisbane are worth a try as they have a good portion of the data from Austral and Domino that were manufactured.

Hi, is it a 2 axle Domino?
As gvm limits apply in all states including WA and 15T in the max allowed for a 2 axle bus, 6t on the fron and 9t on the drive so going any higher won't help you as you won't be able to drive it on public roads.

There are 2 football teams with a swear word in there name. Arsenal and #%$#ing Manly.

National heavy vehicle axle load limits, (link below). Scroll down to bus section. Not sure, but if a bus is converted and re-registered as a motor home then its no longer classified as a bus. Then allowable axle loads may be different,.....maybe. Bet some bureaucrat will have covered this somewhere down the line just for this eventuality.

Axle load limits apply to any vehicle, not just buses. Going over 15t may require a 3rd axle.
