Hunter Valley Buses (part of the ComfortDelGro Cabcharge family) is seeking talented Casual School Bus Drivers to join our dynamic and energetic team.

As a Bus Driver, you will assist customers in reaching their destinations and meet their commitments by providing a safe and comfortable journey.

Your core responsibilities will include:

Delivering a prompt and reliable transport service
Ensuring the safety of all customers by identifying potential risks and reporting unhealthy conditions
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of road laws and company policies
Assessing customer needs, collecting correct fares, issuing tickets, and checking passes
Conducting pre-departure checks and reporting mechanical defects
Creating accurate records such as daily journals, time records, customer loading data, and fuel and charter records
Liaising with supervisory, managerial and operational staff to consistently achieve unified objectives
You will provide a prompt and friendly service to customers from all walks of life, while demonstrating your knowledge of the local area. You will also have a positive, proactive approach, and be well presented at all times.

Applicants should meet the following criteria to be considered for a position:

Possess a MR, HR or HC driving licence
Have a Transport for NSW Drivers' Authority
A clearance to work with children from the Office of the Children's Guardian or ability to obtain.
Excellent communication skills are essential for this role, and the ideal applicant will possess well-developed conflict management skills. Successful applicants will display a willingness to undertake an array of shifts, and pass a medical and driving assessment.

This role would suit retired or semi-retired persons looking to supplement their income with 2 to 30 hours work per week (1 to 5 days per week) during the school terms. Work is equally suited to men and women. Shifts are split into an AM and a PM component leaving most of your day free to carry on your normal daily activities.
