Model Shops In Sydney

Post by TheLondoner »

Hi There

I'll be in Sydney in October and want to check out any diecast model bus and/or model train shops while visiting. I recall that there use to be a pretty good shop in Parramatta, I think on Church Street. Does anyone know if it is still there or have any recommendations on where else I should check out.

If you go to Newcastle there's a big shop called "Frontline Hobbies". 255 Hunter Street. Here's their website:

The Parramatta shops have gone AFIK.

Woodpecker Model Railways at Pendle Hill has a good selection of buses, inc Corgi, EFE, Britbus, etc. Right at the station, open Tues-Sat.

The Bus Museum Shop at Leichhardt, open Weds and Sat (check their website for confirmation)

Hobbyco in the QVB near Town Hall Station often has some models, mainly Corgi

While I haven't been in P'tta for a while I thought Berg's Hobbies was still there last time I visited - more railways and aviation than die cast buses etc.

Berg's is still there, but yes, mainly rail and hobby toys; not much die cast. There used to be Sherrif's Models, south of Westfield on Church St, all diecast stuff, lots of second hand stuff.

There was another down the river end, but it is now just motoring and military books
