EMU and DEMU

Postby Madbus » Tue Jan 16, 2018 8:13 am

Hi guys, I am wondering if any of you know what EMU or DEMU is. I have seen it used in train traffic signage along the tracks of the Seaford line down near mile end. Please let me know if you know what these 2 words mean.

EMU = Electric Multiple Unit (e.g. 4000-class railcars)
DEMU = Diesel-Electric Multiple Unit (e.g. 3000/3100-class railcars)

Both terms refer to railcars which can be coupled together to form a single train consist.
$2,500 fines for vehicles illegally using red Bus Only lanes - could cut the state's debt real quickly if they extended that to regular Bus Lanes!
