i am surprised the old 1600 series buses have lasted this long which is a great testament to their design.a good bus but absolutely rubbish for airport usage.there is no place for luggage and the hassles due to them not being low floor getting suitcases in conjunction with a backpack is a nightmare.I curse the day the old straight through J1/J2 that started it's journey in the northern/north eastern suburbs and every bus you got for the most part on those after the old Mercedes fleet was low floor.nowadays it's a mix of any service to town to connect to any j1 in all it's variations or a j3 and the gamble on those is you never know what kind of bus you get.it's enough to send one over to smart car or citi car if the taxi services leaves a lot to be desired.

Have you written to Adelaide Metro to provide some feedback? If nobody says anything then everyone in power will think that it is working fine.

I caught one on a weekend last year, and saw several others getting around on that day. It was during the footy, and it was probably because Mile End had absolutely no other choices, given that they have about 34 of the original 125 built.

It may be desirable to send some ex Morphettville ones back there to even out the numbers, and get 'reimbursed' with a few CB80s which Morphettville seems to have no shortage of.

Finally. Now it's time for Torrens' & Light City's 'R' series artics to be renumbered.

Why? They're not part of the permanent fleets. I'm surprised that SouthLink's have been renumbered, although they perform the substitute services when the two major rail lines close so it's unlikely they'd have to give theirs up any time soon.

There has been talk of Light-City Buses R803-R804-R805 not only being renumbered, but being O --Bahn equipped for the new December timetables as LCB are going to require additional buses.

Why will LCB require additional buses? Have you seen the new timetables?

My bus this morning was none other than LCB Midi 120 so there must be a few back in service for a while. I must say it sounded better today than the previous time I travelled on it, a while ago. It was a nice surprise! :D

I miss the days of when the now c1/c2 used to continue onwards to the airport as a j1/j2 when all the buses after the mercedes fleet were phased out on the o'bahn when it became 100% scanias straight through.i will send in some feedback to demand a change across the board as there are many backpackers and visitors to the state who want affordable transport to the city hotels and the city itself and maxi limo/smart car and even the adelaide airport shuttle are not always available when you need them and the thought of a smelly indian taxi leaves a lot to be desired.except for say the j1x.you still see the old buses on the airport and onwards to glenelg present day services of j1 in all it's variations and the j3.

It seems like LCB have supplied more buses than Midis they have received. Perhaps this can put to bed rumours that LCB are short for buses?

Of all the high floor buses currently in service, Torrens Transit has about 70% of them, LCB has about 30%, and SouthLink has none. It's hardly the fault of Torrens Transit that they still have to use these buses on all sorts of routes, which sometimes includes the JetBus routes. Unfortunately, you'll just have to wait until their replacements are built and delivered, which is already happening now.

Currently LCB have 6 O_Bahn Artics (1101,1104,1113,1142,1148,1162) that have been out of service for some time, waiting on various turbo/engine parts.
Normally Morphettvile will have at least 14/15 buses in their workshops in peak hours-this morning that figure was 9(4 of them Midis),they had no spare buses available, neither did St Agnes.

I'd be surprised if Torrens Transit and SouthLink had more than 1 or 2 spare buses in their depots too - all three companies are currently operating rail sub services.

This morning 1704 was in service at Mawson Lakes operating a 225X but without SouthLink destos programmed. Was showing an A4 piece of paper in the front window with a handwritten 225X on it.

That would have been an interesting photo opportunity.

The reasons being that it's unusual for a non hills Southlink vehicle not to get renumbered into the 2000 range (obviously due to requirements). Also, Southlink midis are forbidden from doing city runs.

Did it have Southlink listed on the side above the door?

I was driving along hewittson road (road to Elizabeth depot) in front was a Torrens Transit MAN 11.190 bus # 1714 , it turned into depot. It had J1X on back desto
Next station is Victoria Square. Change here for all trains.
