Just saw 2218 on a 228F not long ago, so it's definitely still in service. Not sure why it was removed fom the fleet lists.

More than likely another scenario of a vehicle awaiting parts, hence not being seen for a few months, and hence listed as withdrawn.

Reminds me of 2558. It's odd that it wasn't even 10 years old in 2014, and yet they have to resort to what would be equivalent to visiting a U Pull it in Texas or somewhere via boat to get the parts.

Just wondering, has there been any more retirements lately? I haven't seen 1954 or anything newer getting around, yet...

I guess it's inevitable and been coming with 422 being the oldest SL202 still running... so grateful to have got a final ride last week

428 and 438 seem to have done their last run, from what I've heard. 441 will probably be the next to go.

1604 has been withdrawn from service according to Fleet Lists. Is this correct? I've only been back home 2 weeks after spending 4 weeks away overseas.

I haven't seen it in service in a while, so that is likely. Being one of the six SL202s subjected to AEC 'turbo' modifications, it wasn't in a good condition.

1604 was sighted at Sims Metal last week, quite possible that it has been scrapped already.

Following the smoke incident a few weeks ago, is it safe to assume that 443 has been officially withdrawn?

I’ve probably been living under a rock but what was the smoke incident?

It was travelling along the O-Bahn when smoke started billowing from the exhaust pipe, clearly something in the engine had failed.

LCB's 441 is the latest to be withdrawn from service at St.Agnes depot. It has joined 115 and others at the compound at the back of Morphettville Depot.

Whilst the first lot of MAN SL 202 CNG are due to be withdrawn in early 2018 the last lot(oldest) have until 2020-so you are still going to see a few of them around for quite a while.

1321 (renumbered to 421) was built in 1992, but 1680 -1699 and 1600 were built from about 1994-1996. Hopefully they don't disappear until they're all at least 24 and a half. A lot of washing machines on wheels to still hit the streets of Adelaide.

The chances of getting a high floor on any PT service in Adelaide are actually very low, unless it's a Torrens Transit service operated run from Mile End or Newton. Newton will probably end up with at least another 6 or so SL202s over the next 6-12 months anyway. At least 7 have been transferred there in the last 18 months.

that sucks.i notice the 7:06am J1 FROM THE CITY TO GLENELG stopping at the airport happens to be one of those all the time almost.you sometimes might get a low floor bus but that's rather rare at the present time.try getting onto one of those if coming from a 500 from klemzig that leaves at 6:49am arriving 7am onto that with luggage is practically impossible.how tourists from the city end cope surprises me.i was almost determined to attempt to do that next week for holidays but sense and health made me book a car with smart car instead,it's not that my mother can't drive me it's the fact if she has had a glass of wine the previous night around 8:30pm I don't feel confident stepping foot into a car with someone whose alcohol has not allowed at least 12 hours to clear the system.
