Hey Guys,
I am working on modelling the entire Seaford line, but I need to be on a 3000 class railcar for it to be effective.
Does anyone know what times they are most likely or always run on the Seaford line?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: 3000s on Seaford
As far as I am aware 3000's are now not in regular service on the Seaford line. Until last year there was a weekday evening working but I believe that this is now an electric working. Given the demand for diesels on the rest of the network and the current surplus of electrics, it is understandable that diesels have been completely displaced from Seaford and Tonsley. In recent months only in exceptional circumstances have diesels appeared down south.MrNicoster wrote:Hey Guys,

By modelling the line, do you mean model railway stuff or computer simulation, or some other method?

You might be better off posting on the Railpage forum instead. See here

Thanks Guys,
I will ask on that forum.
Myself and another are working on a whole new game, so yes, computer simulation.

Re: 3000s on Seaford
I'm not 100% sure, but there may be some Tonsley workings with diesels during the Royal Adelaide Show with some electrics used for Show Shuttles. Yesterday when I left the Show at about 5:45pm there were two diesels side-by-side at Adelaide Showgrounds, both city-bound having arrived from Goodwood Station. They can't have both come from the Belair line at the same time!

1. The weekday Show Shuttles start after 7pm.
2. The diesel fleet is currently at maximum utilisation during the evening peak (64 cars out of 70 used)
3. Only 15 out of 22 electric units are needed for Seaford and Tonsley peak services.
4. A citybound Belair is scheduled at Showground at 1751 and an outbound Belair at 1752. Around this time I have seen on various occasions citybound Belair trains on the Seaford line between Wayville and Mile End. This allows them to use Platform 2 at Showground to cross outbound trains in the Belair platform.
5. The citybound train from Tonsley is due at 1755.
Re: 3000s on Seaford
1. Some railcars may operate to different workings when there are special events on, even if there are no extra services at a particular time of day. Bus and tram operate to different workings all day when there are special events on (such as footy) so maybe trains do so as well - just an educated theory.PD2/20 wrote:Some comments:Eagle Eye wrote:I'm not 100% sure, but there may be some Tonsley workings with diesels during the Royal Adelaide Show with some electrics used for Show Shuttles. 4. Note I said both diesel trains were citybound. It may have been closer to 5:55pm, I said about 5:45pm as I didn't check my watch at that moment
Re: 3000s on Seaford
Observations this afternoon: (1) All Seaford and Tonsley services were electric (2) Citybound Belair trains used Plat 2 (Seaford line) at Showgrounds at 1652, 1722, 1751 to cross outbound Belair trains. (3) Normal service patterns were observed.
